Honey Boo Boo And Fam Are Making More Than 4K

Reports have been circulating that Honey Boo Boo and Co. have been making less than $4,000 an episode, but today June told TMZ that the $4K amount isn’t accurate and that they’re in fact making a lot more. Whether they’re telling the truth or not–if they are making on the lower end, you better believe they’re going to be making a lot more for their next season. I feel like Honey Boo Boo is the new Jersey Shore in a lot of regards. It’s loud, it’s something we haven’t seen before, and in a way, watching them is like watching Gorillas in their natural habitat.

I wonder how long it’ll last? Hopefully not until she reaches puberty–I don’t know if I can handle a story line of Honey Boo Boo starting her period, and getting the sex talk after drinking her Go Go Juice.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I’m sorry I may sound harsh to all of you and believe me I’m not, but I’d rather watch Honey and laugh than watch the twins with two heads that made me so upset I had to turn it off. May God Bless them but I cannot watch their show.

May be true. I have heard MTV is cheap as all hell. They believe you get more out of being on the network so they don’t pay people much.

OMG – That picture of the child and really obese mama in hot pink is appalling. I don’t have a bias against fat people but where is the child’s pediatrician (BooBoo is overweight, too). Why do they care more about this show, money and fame than health? Very sad commentary on our society that this stupid show is so popular.

They say that everyone has their price… It is making me really wonder about myself, though…
I wonder how much they would have to give me to discard all my privacy and dignity.

$40,000 for one year wouldn’t cut it… especially if I had to share it with 5 other people.

Perhaps I don’t want to know the answer.

I watched the first two episodes of Honey Boo Boo online, then tlc.com pulled it. It was actually pretty good. The difference between this and Abby&Britney (the conjoined twins) is I feel that Honey Boo Boo & family are doing this show because they enjoy it and think it will help Honey Boo Boo in pageants. They also seem like they would horde the money for something, like education. The fact they are not editing themselves around the cameras and are openly making fun of themselves is rather refreshing.

Abby&Britney are clearly doing it for money. There is no logical reason for their show, there is nothing interesting going on in their life. Oh, wow, they graduated from college and are having issues finding a job. So they are just like us. I don’t see that show going far. Yes, they are physically different from everyone else on the planet, but that is it. Watching their show is sort of as pointless as reading a 22 year old girl’s facebook feed. I am guessing they are going for the angle on how they will be treated when/if they become a teacher. How everyone needs to be accepting of everyone else, blah blah blah. Give me more Honey Boo Boo and family and their strange obsession with stocking toilet paper.

Side note – can anyone explain extreme couponing like they do on HBB? How are you saving money if you are only buying things with coupons even if those things are items you do not need, want or use? Even if you already have more than Costco stocks. How is that saving money? Wow, you paid 69 cents for each of those mustard’s, but who do you need 20 jars? I thought the point of a coupon was to use it for items you actually need.

    @Carol

Sometimes a coupon is so good that you actually make money buying the item and using the coupon. Then you buy other stuff. And no, nobody needs 20 jars of mustard, but they can be donated, sold, etc.

A lot of folks will have yard sales with the nonfood items, or make care packages for various causes.

My problem with the Honey Boo Boo family is that this kid is never going to win a pageant. Nothing big anyway. They may love her and tell her pretty comes in all sizes. But, and I say this as someone who grew up as a fat kid who just did regular stuff. I didn’t try to win beauty pageants. So-called ‘normal’ kids can be relentless to fat kids (or anyone who’s different). I can’t even imagine how much worse if would be in the pageant world. HBB is a fat kid. Her parents can toss all the cash TLC pays them at hair, flippers, dresses, non-existent ettiquette and talent and it will never amount to anything until the day comes when all pageant kids are fat and they only judge on who’s cute and has a winning personality. Maybe then HBB would win. Until then, I think they’re farting their money away. If they’re serious about her winning she needs to loose weight. You just don’t see many chubby 8, 9 or 10 year olds on T&T. Whatever. I just know it’s hard being a fat kid.

I think a lot of the TLC shows have a circus freak show quality about them. HBB’s family is like a side show, seriously. The show with the conjoined twins. 19 kids and counting. The Little Couple. What’s the one with the family in Oregon…Big World, Little People? All their shows seem exploitive. I’m not learning anything. I feel like a voyeur.

@2muchbravo – she may never win, but if every parent let their kids give up because they weren’t going to win, go to the olympics, become a professional, etc, the world would be a sad place. Pageants are pricey, yes but elite level sports are too. Think of how many kids play soccer, even at the elite level. The amount that go on to play D1 in college is even smaller, then become a pro, that is a wicked small percentage. The nice thing about Honey Boo Boo & Family is it seems that the pageants actually bring the family together. They might not be the most normal family, but they seem to know the value of family.

@2muchbravo – sorry for the double post, forgot to say that yes, I totally agree, kids are mean to overweight kids, even overweight adults. I know this from not only being a chubby kid but being a camp counselor all during high school and college. I am so so so happy that the super short shorts that are fashionable now (even for little kids) were not in style when I was growing up. Not that hyper-color clothing was any better.

I’m not saying she should give up on the pageants and I like that her parents are trying to make her love herself. But, I think they should also help her have a serious chance of winning something other than Miss Personality. Didn’t they show her being upset that she didn’t win anything? Don’t get me wrong. I’D LOVE for HBB to become a successful pageant queen and end up doing something with her life other than become a mother at 16 or 17. She seems to be a sharp little girl. I just think they could be a little more serious if they really want her to be successful.
She (or was it a sister) has already displayed an interest in them losing weight. Well, they should all get actively involved and stick to it. It would benefit them all. The last thing this family needs is for June to drop dead of a heart attack at 35. They can be good role models and give their kids good self esteem eating well and getting their asses moving just as well as they do sitting on the sofa eating cheese balls. That’s alls I’m saying.

Honey Boo Boo is awesome!! Evidentally its not all about winning .. and thats a good thing.. June is teaching her child you win some you lose some.. and thats what all parents should do. Thats the problem in America,,, everyone thinks they should win all the time and there is no real understanding of sportsmanship and learning to lose gracefully. Who cares that she dont win.. the show is hilarious, the family is showing everyone that they do other things besides pageants, spending time with their family and showing the good side of all of it. Now, I dont agree with some of their manners but hey, everybody does a little of that. I like June and her family.. they are not on here to be fake or try and be someone else and thats good. Oh, and the kid is in school getting her education!! She is not like that old washed up Mickie Wood that cant realize she is and has ruined Eden’s life, No education, no morals and all she does is try and go around and do these so called pageants of hers to make money for herself. Now that is what I call pathetic.. Mickie, get over it sweetheart.. Your daughter needs an education, YOU need to get a life and realize,, ITS ALL ABOUT HONEY BOO BOO NOW!! She has taken over and I love it !!!! GO HONEY BOO BOO !!

@comment 3, I read on a fitness website that attached a link of how much te family actually makes how disturbed the fitness group was as well that this family is overweight and getting paid to keep up the antics of this unhealty lifestyle for entertainment. But, if we are waxing poetic Imight interject that we see the same thing in a different form in shows LIKE the Jersey Shore, Intervention, Taboo Etc.

While I may not agree about the unhealthy lifestyle choice they all signed up for this and I am quite sure they would be doing the same with or without the cameras.

I too cannot watch the conjoined twins. God bless them but, I can’t do it.

I don’t care how much they are paid just as long as it’s a lot more than Mickie Wood got from Logo for Eden’s World. Of course, I may be disappointed because HBB did not have the benefit of a world-class professional pageant-girl manager like Heather Ryan to negotiate for the big bucks.

I read that mama Kardashian is against Honey Boo Boo and thinks June is exploiting her for money. HELLO? WTF? I hate to admit I watched the Kardashians show on Monday, and here are the two youngest daughters wanting to be home schooled because they are so busy working that they cannot keep up with their schoolwork. Here’s a thought….don’t work during the school year! Kris is exploiting her daughters over their education so she can make money off of them. As many other people commented that is the pot calling the kettle black. I don’t know what HBB does during the school year, maybe they will show it. I think this family is hilarious. Sure they are overweight but they know it, they are not trying to pretend they are something they are not. Like the K’s are, trying to act like they have a clue.

I saw a report that said Kris Jenner is against Honey Boo Boo and thinks June is exploiting her child. Hello? WTF? This from a woman who’s two younger daughters want to be home schooled because they feel they are falling behind since they are working so much. (I am ashamed to admit I watched their show on Monday night. That’s how I found out about this nonsense.) If they are so worried about their schoolwork, maybe they should only work during the summer! Seems logical to me! Kris is exploiting her daughers for money, at the expense of their education. And all the girls had to say to get their way is that they have panic attacks at school. I think if any of June’s kids would have tried to pull that she would have told them it ain’t gonna happen. I like HBB’s family. They are not trying to be something they are not. They know they are overweight, they don’t act like diva’s, and they seem to be happy with each other. I don’t see a whole lot of drama and that might make for boring tv, but I think it is refreshing.

You know, all these television shows have characters trying to be like ‘us’ normal Americans; they eat junk food, don’t want to exercise, drink too much and/or sleep with the wrong people. But of course, they still look amazing on the show, (like Monica and Rachel pigging out over ice cream because of boy problems, but never gaining a pound, or Julia Louis Dryfuss drinking her way through The Adventures of New Christine, or the Desperate Housewives sleeping around constantly, but looked stunning nontheless). It used to piss me off. I disagree with those who think letting this family be on TV is bad for the nation’s health. On the contrary–if you eat junk food and don’t exercise, this is what you will look like. It provides some honesty for a change. And if this family doesn’t hate themselves for being fat, if they aren’t “shamed” into hiding from the cameras or pageants–well, that is just too bad for those people whose agenda lies in continuing the absolute crime of hating on someone for how they look. Cowards don’t change anything. If there are people out there who agree that they have to hide because of their weight, so as not to offend ‘normal weighing’ people, then nothing will change, abuse will continue and cruelty will abound. As long as June loves her kids, and truly cares for them (unlike so many of the housewives in the RHof searies) as best she can, then I have no problems with her or the way she lives her life. So many shows promote sex, drugs, alcohol, cruelty, dishonesty and narcissism, and that seems to be okay with most people. But dear G-d, should a show represent FAT people and their perspective, well pull out the guns and start shooting. For example, the protest against Mike & Molly when it originally planned to air because it ‘promoted’ fat people and their unhealthy lifestyles–but that turned out okay in the end because they are trying to lose weight. But a family that has members who are overweight and are OKAY WITH IT…well that is just too dangerous, right? Wrong. You don’t like it? Don’t fucking watch.

I think besides them being entertaining it’s a fun change to see people that love each other. Which they can do because they love themselves. Just like Ru Paul always says.

June’s beautimous to herself and her family just like she is.

It doesn’t matter if any of us think she’s beautimous or not. As long as we know we are.

@Kthxy, besides having had the wisdom to latch on to you, Mr. Thxbai is a very smart man in saying that Kris J could learn a thing or two from June. Besides self-esteem, she could learn about raising kids with love and acceptance instead of pimping them out.

They were featured on the Velez-Mitchell program last evening, and I was amazed at how almost everyone accepted that wierd, funny family for telling it like it is.

(ノ^ ‿^)ノ 彡♡ @snowshoecat ! That’s what we were talking about! Their different points of view about raising girls. And the meaning of forklift foot. I think it was her insecurity. But she doesn’t want her girls to have stuff like that. So she showed it to set an example.

Oh and I got a science note. Their dirt down there’s like in parts of Africa and S Asia. It’s got oxide in it. It’ll stain skin right through cloth. When they got pedis you could see they all had it.

If they just went to pools it’d come off. But they mostly go to those lakes. With oxide dirt on the bottom.

Anywhere that’s got that climate, gnats are all over. When they wave their hand in front of their face that’s gnats. Going after water. If you took off a wet sock they’d go to the wet foot. They don’t care if it’s on tv. Or a forklift foot.

Being a proudly-ignorant, classless, inarticulate redneck should never be encouraged, much less REWARDED with money and a show. These people are not cute, funny, or endearing in any way, shape, or form. They need to learn how to talk, stop offering TMI for shock-value, and get their health/weight under control. I live in the south, and it’s assholes like these who will never allow stereotypes to be overcome. These are the people I pick up in my ambulance, have to request help from fire department to lift/move onto my stretcher, and have to bite my toungue as they crack obnoxious jokes the entire time about their own obesity, while I am sweatin’ bullets, risking a career-ending back injury. These people are happy living life as a fat, uneducated slobs, no matter who it inconveniences. I ride to the hospital, trying to get the info I need from all my patients, but he/she is too busy mumbling a grammatically incorrect version of the english language (thinking it’s funny/cute) to allow me to just do my fucking job. They teach their kids to be the exact same way, and by placing said child in a pageant environment (which she has no business/place in), the inability to function like a normal/respectable human being is so distinct that it is misinterpreted as entertaining? Ugh. Compensation for being a delusional, lazy blob with a mental capacity of a first grader is just one more indication of how fucked our society is.
