Honey Boo Boo Makes Babs Most Fascinating People List

Honey Boo Boo has made Barbara Walters 2012 Most Fascinating People list. She thinks the relationship between June and Alana is a “love story.” She said, “A lot of people will say, ‘For heaven’s sake, this is ridiculous, this is a child at 5 or 6 years old entering beauty contests. But the relationship between Alana and her mother — that’s the story, the two of them. It’s very touching.”

Babs is drinking the Kool-Aid! I know this sounds ridiculous, but I also find the relationship between June and Alana a love story. I know she exploits her daughter and their entire family, so that aside–their story is kind of sweet. I know I live in an alternate universe, but I’d much rather have Honey Boo Boo on the list over Kim K any year, wouldn’t you?

I can’t wait to see the look of terror on Babs’ face when Honey Boo Boo talks about her Go-Go juice. It’s going to be amazing!

I wonder who will make her list next year? Abby and Brittany? Would they count for two? I’m going to hell, I’ll stop.

Bab’s special airs on December 12th at 9:30PM ET/PT on ABC.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Nads – I love you no matter what and I am a big fan of the site BUT

what is up with the multitudes of advertising on the site? Every time I visit there is more and more. Capcha codes that either require you to solve a riddle, regurgitate a tag line, or type 7 sentences. Now you have ads down the let side of the entire site forcing you to scroll. You always give it to us straight so why is the ad to snark ratio 98 – 1? Avoiding the ads and entering the codes is too much “work” ;)

considerthis – I agree with you on this 100%. If you’re logged in, you won’t have to go thru the capcha ads, but they DRIVE ME NUTS! I’m zipping my lips on this, but I agree with you. @flipit, what can we do about this??

Damn son, Grammar Police in the house.

But I agree with Barbara. I love Alana and June together and I think the whole family is charming in a horrifying way.
I don’t think June is exploiting anyone though…everyone seems to like being on it and they are getting PAID.

And I agree that they are better than the Kardashians.
Shoot, you want to talk about people exploiting their kids.
Mama Kris has them girls (including Rob and Bruce) out on everyone’s street corner working like the rent was due yesterday.

I know those mistakes aren’t your usual…so you get an automatic pass from me.

Don’t work too hard. And be sure to break for the occasional festive seasonal beverage.

I am the Queen of Typos so you get a pass from me Nads however…

I know I am not along and this has been said on many a thread an NOT directed at you Nads but the GASM or Flipit; WTH is up with this site? Wrap around advertising banners. No link to “more hot shows” on the right hand column and very late recaps on some shows…plus the gossip site links?

I hope these are some how all leading to your success but, and update or explaination would be appreciated speaking as a long timer.

    Thank you in advance!

Babs just tries to stay relevant by putting out these lists, hoping the shock of some of her picks will bring publicity. Which it does. Didn’t she do the Kartrashians last year?

Lindlaw205- totally agree with you. And yes, the kartrashians were last year, I was just making a general statement that honey boo boo is better than the k’s. I kind of feel like honey boo boo is the new snooki, don’t you think?

I don’t know if there is a better place to post this, but I too wish the link to the other shows were still in the sidebar. I don’t mind the ad pass code so much, but sometimes it makes me cycle through three or four ads before it will accept a code, and sometimes it plays a video commercial at full volume which is really annoying which can’t be clicked out of.

Also, any time I see HBB get some free publicity, I always wonder what kind of angry fit it makes Eden Wood’s mother throw, and it makes me sad that I can’t be there to see it.

    Babs is too easily fascinated.

I have no issue with Alana or her mom (although putting your kid on TV…such a bad idea!); however, what the hell is supposed to make this kid fascinating? Has she accomplished something really cool? Is she a star athlete, accomplished musician, a math whiz, or spelling bee champ? Even an actress? No. She’s a kid like about a million others. I’m sure she’s nice enough, but I see nothing interesting in an ordinary child getting periodically tarted up in frills and rhinestones to prance around a stage. Every time I hear about this girl I just worry that she’s going to end up with a huge ego problem from being in the spotlight for doing nothing.

I know from reading here that lots of you love this family, their love is obvious and genuine, blah, blah, blah…But to me the only thing fascinating about this girl is that apparently many people find her fascinating. I. don’t. get. it. ita with everything merry said, except I don’t even care if she develops a huge ego problem.

Totally agree with merry and wcsdancer. Alana isn’t fascinating or interesting in any way. I love my daughters – is that fascinating in any way? Probably not. Let me know when this kid or her family do something (anything!) that would qualify as interesting. Haven’t seen it yet.

    Babs has lost it.

Nads, my grammar is my mom’s mom, so I think your words are perfect no matter their order.
I find it fascinating that grammar is even considered in a Honey Boo-Boo comment thread.

I’ll take June and Alana over the Kartrashians any day. I refuse to buy any of their crappy merchandise but if there were Honey Boo Boo dresses I would buy them. Cranky Guy I’m with you it would be so funny to be a fly on the wall at the Wood residence.

What’s fascinating is that it looks like their show was made, initially, to embarrass them and exploit what a bunch of hicks they are. What it TURNED into, however, is a show that demonstrates the love the family has for each other. They turned the joke around on those people who were hoping for a train wreck and got a love fest instead.

What kills me is that anyone takes Babs seriously at all anymore. That hag jumped the shark when she decided Rosie would be a great addition to the Spew. Even after Rosie had shown how much of a nut she was Babs still tried to defend her. Of course after seeing the ratings plummet, she fired her ass. As for Honey Boo Boo, be afraid, Babs is after your blood to try and keep what’s left (boy has that ship sailed) of her ancient youth. All I’m saying is that if Boo Boo disappears, check Babs teeth for Boo Boo remnants.
