Hope Solo Accuses Maks Of Slapping Her During DWTS

Oh god, here we go…someone wrote a memoir and they’ve made claims in their book so it’ll sell…wait, isn’t that what tell-alls are supposed to be? Disregard…  

Anyway, Hope Solo wrote in her memoir that her ex-DWTS partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy slapped her hard on the face during rehearsals. She wrote,  “He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. I thought that was just how it went – how dancers worked with each other. But it kept getting worse. One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day.”

And when Maks found out about her allegations, he fired back on twitter yesterday.

He tweeted:

We’ve all known Maks to be a prima donna, but I can’t imagine he’d hit Hope and we’re just hearing about this for the first time. I’m curious to hear what his other dancing partners have to say about this, and their time with Maks. There’s no question whether or not what he did was wrong…it is–regardless, but I’m wondering if Hope is a storyteller and someone that will go at any lengths for fame. 

The worst part about it is, who will the public believe? An Olympian or a prima donna? Nine out of ten times, people will believe an Olympian. I believe Hope in this instance, but I’m a little suspect that it’s just now coming out.

I’m sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle…

    All of his partners have loved him. Kirstie Alley is paired with his for a 2nd time and can’t say enough nice things about him. It was never a secret that they didn’t get along and that she was a pain in the ass. She constantly complained and bitched at him. I wanted to reach through my tv and smack her half the time. But, I don’t think Max did.

    totally agree with truthsquad, everything i’ve heard about her — opportunist is the exact right word, always trying to create drama.

    The report I read also mentioned that she accuses at least one of her coaches of either pushing or hitting her. The coach in question denied it and claims that had he ever physically handled a player inappropriately he would have been fired in a heartbeat. I recall her on DWTS and she clearly had a very high opinion of her dancing ability and a very bad attitude when critiqued. In this case, I believe Maks.

    She is so ridiculous and annoying.
    I think that Maks did those things but to a much less severe degree. Like I believe that he would have tapped her stomach or moved her arms into position. And he’s probably been a little rough with her…I remember this one dance that they did where he was whipping her around on the dance floor so hard I thought her head was gonna fly off into the balcony. But I don’t think that it’s anywhere near what she’s saying and I refuse to believe that he’s ever actually hit her. If that happened, it would have been on tape or someone would have seen. It’s not like they were alone during rehearsals.

    She’s probably just mad that no one asked her to be on All-Stars, with her attention whore self.

    I agree that there is no way this happened. They are always on camera or with producers. Just no way. She should be ashamed for trumping this up to try to boost book sales.

    Iona – I’m am with you on the Brothers Chmerkovskiy!

    While Maks has that cold eastern european thing going on in his eyes, which lends itself to believing he’s a slapper, something is amiss here.

    I have been slapped pretty damn hard (all in good fun), and even the reddest handprint on the ass goes away pretty quickly.
