For the first time ever American Idol eliminated a contestant on a Gives Back show, and I’m so glad my nemesis got sent home.
Before we talk about who got kicked off, I want to share my epiphany with you…and I could be WAY off, BUT…is it just me, or do the Black Eyed Peas NOT look like some random band that put a song/dance number together for a Saturday morning kids show? I swear, I never thought I’d be so over them like I am now.
Quick rundown from what I remember:
Elton John: I love Elton, and he’s so damn funny.
Mary J. Blige: I have mixed feelings on her performance..there was way too much going on.
Carrie Underwood: I love her. She did the best job of the night.
Alicia Keys: She did great…had a hard time hitting a few notes, but, pulled off a great 2-song performance.
Annie Lennox: She did amazing. Her song was simple and flawless.
Joss Stone, and Jeff Beck: Weird song choice, but nicely done.
And, the comics…
George Lopez: BIG OUCH. It made me uncomfortable to watch.
Wanda: So funny. Loved how she ripped on Idol. Truth: she’s much better on stage than she is on her talk show.
Now let’s talk about the booted contestant…
JUMP IN.
WARNING, SPOILER ALERT.
I’m SOOO happy that Tim Urban finally got the boot! It was SO well deserved!
I don’t know what I would have done if he would have made it through. I just couldn’t take another week of his horrendous singing, or his sh*t eating grin. America finally got it right.
Sorry Tim, I’m sure you’re a sweet guy, but Idol gave back to me by kicking you off.
If you like it, spread it!:

Glad to see Doofus gone. But I had pretty much the opposite reactions to the performances. Alicia Keys really cannot sing, if that performance is any indication. Flat, off-key etc.
And I thought Stairway to heaven was excellent musically, but good god almighty, Mary Blige was not a good pick to sing that song. (And I doubt she’d ever heard it before the rehearsals). Poser.
And Joss Stone stomping around and grimacing during what’s supposed to be a slow seductive blues song? Uh, no.
But … Carrie Underwood was excellent, and the only singer who seemed wrapped up in the song and passionate.
