So…all over the internet there are headlines that say, “Idol Ratings Down!” like it’s breaking news and the stock market crashed. Guess what? They were down by only 10-f’n'-percent! 30.1 million people still watched the two-hour train wreck. So if I may…internet and newspapers: CALM THE F*CK DOWN!

Despite the headlines of horrible ratings, I did get to be one of the lucky 30.1 million viewers last night. I had to watch!!! I wanted to formulate my judgement on Kara! The truth? I kind of didn’t love her, and she actually totally annoyed me. She made Paula look normal and sane which is almost close to impossible. So close to impossible that if you were to say to me two days ago, the new judge will make Paula look sane…I would ask when the flying pigs were going to show up. And furthermore (if I may), you know what drove me crazy? How Kara kept singing as she was judging…showing “how it should be done”. I’m obviously not giving up on the show, but note that Kara is skating on thin ice with me.

Okay, I’ve stepped off my soap box now. See you at the next post.

Thoughts on last night’s episode?

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I am going to agree with you Nads. She kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

I was most annoyed when she told nasaly pink cowgirl that she sang like she was “in a musical”. That shows complete ignorance on her part about musicals, because NO director would ever hire somebody with such a pop voice. Unless they cracked her of that habit and trained her better or something.

And she’s kind of a bitch. I did enjoy when she called bikini skank a bitch, but otherwise I felt like some of her comments that I caught as she muttered under her breath were uncalled for.

I couldn’t agree with you more on all your points…the more I watched her, the more she drove me nuts!

I feel like Kara is trying way too hard to be the “girl Simon,” but without the social graces of Simon.

I agree with the comments on Kara. I thought it was mean when she said “well, that tells you where my career is!” about pink cowgirl being her biggest fan. I would think she’d be flattered to have anyone single her out of the four and claim to be a fan. I’d never even heard of her before Idol. And despite her protests, I think she was harsh with Bikini Girl because of her looks. That being said, Bikini Girl had it coming and I loved it when Kara recommended she go to Hollywood naked and asked if her name was “top” and “bottom”. Ha!

I’ve only watched half of last night’s broadcast (so I’ve yet to see the bikini beausty!) but my impression of the new judge so far is that she is incredibly conceited and not nearly as clever as she evidently thinks she is.

I agree Kara was annoying -but the highlight of the night was Seacrest trying to high five the blind contestant at the end of the show – then the look on his face when he remembered the guy was blind. That was a laugh out loud moment for me.
