Hey guys! There will be some bigger news to come this week, but first…I wanted to let you all know that I’m going to be doing a weekly recap of The Shahs of Sunset for Bravotv.com  For once my ethnicity played in my favor. Ha!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. I won’t post any of my thoughts on this post because I don’t want to take away from our Gasm recap, but if you get a second, you can click on my post here.

Yay!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Thanks Classy! Yeah, after reading it, I realized it was way too straight forward. Plus, I didn’t know how much I could push the envelope, but I kind of have a gauge now. Love your feedback. Thanks classy! :-)

    Yay Nads.
I usually don’t go to Bravo since they didn’t post my comment to Jesus Jugs.
I did start it off “With all due respect…”

Nads, I do recall reading Jay Mohr’s recaps and he didn’t seem to hold back, although I know he could have gone further into detail.

Congratulations. I”ll try to comment, but Bravo never seems to include my comments on the HW’s blogs.

OMG! Nads is recapping! I am SO excited. I always wondered why you didn’t, especially this show (no offense intended of course) or any show.

I look forward to reading your thoughts on the show and I do have one question Ms. Nads: Does Bravo know that when the Gasmii come over to comment that they are going to have someone full-time to monitor our comments? Heck, they are going to need it.

I am so proud of you Nads.

    “New blog smell”. Loved that.

I think you hit a happy medium with the first recap: it was fairly straight forward, with a little snark here and there so that readers say “yeah, what was UP with that??” I guess how you evolve the recaps depends on what (if any) parameters or expectations the overlords at the Bravo site have for recaps written for their site. For instance, how irreverent can you get about the show, is mentioning obvious producer shenanigans verboten, how might the recap audience over there be different from the peeps here, etc.

I’ve noticed that recaps of TV shows in general, but of reality shows and competition shows in particular, have gotten MUCH more snarky of late. EW.com recaps now even contain a fair number of swears. Honestly, other recaps have gone from simple episode summaries to more resemble the style here at the Gasm. (Which suits my taste, but I often forget that I’m not the SOLE consumer of TV writing…) If the situation at the Bravo site permits, I say let your Id run free! Over there can’t be THAT much different than here–recappers develop a following based on an easily recognizable style and a certain sense of humor that loyal readers come to see as a value add. And they know they hired a comedienne to write the recaps…

One idea: keep using your shared heritage in the recaps. You have an insight into the culture (exaggerated though it may be on the show) that few other recappers can provide. There’s gotta be some comedy pay dirt there, huh? I have to say, you and Flipit would be the ONLY two people on the planet that would get me to visit the Bravo site!

    Write on, Nads!

Labowner…that’s why I went with ClassyD over at Bravo. I KNEW I’d be moderated if I was classy drunk. Gasm is the only place where I’d be considered classy. Well here and the Bad Girls Club house, but after that…eh.

Does Bravo really PAY someone to moderate their blogs? I kind of doubt it. That would be a lot of work. And Bravo’s interns are already busy ghostwriting the Housewives’ blogs. I think most sites just wait until there’s a complaint, then they’ll delete a post, otherwise, it’s comment Thunderdome. I mean, what unpleasant things could you be posting about Bravo’s celebtards that Bravo’s own editing doesn’t already imply? Maybe the Bravo site has a swear filter that’s overly sensitive. (EW.com has one.) That may be why various posts don’t appear. And it’s hard to talk about famewhores without using bad language. (See?)

Classy I changed my name and I tried to post nice and not so nice things on five different blogs. Not one was added. This is not new for Bravo. I remember this happening back in the day for the NJ blogs. Lots of folks were complaining their comments weren’t being added. Maybe I should try my old log in name and see if that works. I do recall people having issues logging in on different computers and not being able to do so.

NotWMT I am going to assume Bravo is like interning here at Sephora HQ in SF. A never ending supply of folks willing to get their feet in the door and do what ever it takes. I do not utilize any bad words in my blog comments, well unless “catty” is considered a dirty word. I called Taylor a hypocrite and reminded her she helped build up that debt she was crying about.

I’m going to keep trying. One may stick eventually.
