SNL didn’t hold back this past Saturday. I was wondering who they were going to choose for the Cold Open? Manti or Lance…well, they chose both and added Jodi to the mix. Last week was quite a week, wasn’t it? And it’s only January. Lance should thank his lucky stars that the Manti news came out to divert the attention (just a little)

Here’s the cold open, in case you missed it:

And just for sh*ts and giggles, here’s Top Dog Chef…just because we love Chef here:

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

The opening was pretty good. The guy they had doing the Manti impression was hilarious. Overall though, SNL wasn’t great. I watched it for my celebrity cheat (jennifer lawrence) but it was more a bland episode I thought? What do I know, I haven’t watched it consistently in years!

@captain – I’ve watched SNL every Saturday for years and years. Usually it’s pretty decent but yeah, last week was pretty underwhelming, Jennifer Lawrence is so funny and she deserved better. I find that for the most part SNL is usually just okay, there’s only a few standout episodes of the last couple of seasons where every sketch was good (Betty White, any Justin Timberlake, Jason Segel, Daniel Radcliffe, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph and Jimmy Fallon were all pretty great episodes of the last two seasons).

Jennifer was hardly in the show at all this week, it was disappointing.

@Georgiababe- I totally agree- and Jennifer Lawrence can work great with comedy, she’s so fun in her interviews, I was really expecting a lot :( Maybe I’ll youtube some of the eps you mentioned! Thanks :)

You’re welcome! If you reside in the United States they’re easily accessible on Netflix and NBC.com.

Oh, also the Martin Short episode was pretty good! EW.com does a poll every year where people vote for the Best Host and usually the hosts who had great episodes are high in the polls. Short is leading the poll for this year so far, but most of the above that I mentioned have been very high in the polls for seasons past. Hopefully you find them more enjoyable than this past episode!

Ok, those two sketches were funny. “WHO’S AT THE DOOR? I WILL KILL YOU!”
