   I totally agree with you Nads. Everybody knows (in Phaedra voice) Jason is the more stable parent, she should agree to split custody, throw money at him and thank Jesus that she has such an awesome co parent for her child. I’m on team Bryn!

   They should cooperate for the sake of the child. They are both gainfully employed people – I don’t understand trying to get the other person to pay for your own expenses. However I think they should share expenses for their child and each of them should have a life insurance policy with Bryn as beneficiary. Since she is underage, they should work together to create a valid and sensible trust.

   This is an error so many divorcing parents do : they forget about their kids. Please don’t let these people use their child for leverage. Put Bryn’s needs first.

   Bethenny is a fool. She has thrown away her best chance of happiness. In a few years she will realize that she had it all and it will be too late to start again. And in the meantime she will screw up the kid.

   I don’t why Bethenny never had a pre-nup to begin with. She could have saved herself a lot of trouble. I don’t think the life insurance should be brought up and him be the beneficiary. It should be whoever the heck she wants it to be if it is her policy. Until Bryn is 18, she should be able to pick whoever she wants to make sure Bryn gets it in case something happens. Just because you are her ex-husband and the father of her kid doesn’t mean you have any right to be on a policy. I would be freaking pissed if a judge forced me and I would appeal it.

   I also don’t think B should force Jason to take one and name her beneficiary. It is freaking ridiculous. In my own experience, they should just split it (custody) down the line, be responsible for all their own expenses but split Bryn’s, and get their own insurance, etc.

   This is just stupidity to want everyone else to pay for it. They both have money and it isn’t like they are like us plebes who need an ex-spouse to take care of us when we divorce (my ex-husband is suppose to because he caused my injury that lead to us separating) because they are at fault. Be lucky you guys have more money than a lot of people and both of you can take care of Bryn financially.

   Was Bethenny rich when they married? Okay, she had a margarita recipe. BFD. I watched a little of the tv show featuring their marriage, and it looked to me that Jason had a lot to do with ramping up production and putting that multi-million dollar deal in motion. I remember HIM telling her how much the Skinny Girl deal settled for. This looks like a bargaining ploy on both sides where much more than is really expected is asked for as “throwaways” during negotiations.

   I just think this whole thing is very sad. The relationship was doomed from the start. I believe they were trying to do the right thing for their child and Bethenny wanted a family so badly that she would have done anything to get it.

   @ 4 Consider— I had a good chuckle over the “ortho clause”—prolly b/c I picture Bryn, an employee, etc punching Bethanny in the mouth and knocking some teeth out.

   @5 Parisi– I am surpised there was no pre-nup either. How many businesses did she have going at the time???

   It is True Bethanny (Hey–title for her post-split series!!!!) that she is casting herself as the wronged woman—barefoot, homeless, about to be toothless (see what I did there??), with a baby and no mans. Maybe she needs to sit down with Tiny Caro Manzo (I heard she is out of the RHNJ gig) and get set straight. I will hold off on the easy Albie Manzo gay joke I just set up.

    Why are they asking for life insurance? They could easily take out policies on each other, even if they divorce, since they have a child together.

    Life insurance is not a surprise. Companies take out life insurance policies on their higher ups with the company being the beneficiary. Banks do it to on lenders.

    Bryn should be the beneficiary so neither parent could get their hands on the money.

    For someone that bitched about how no one loved her, it really seemed like Jason did. I think all that Jim Beam money went to her head…She couldn’t just take a breath and just let them live for a while. I can totally understand why Jason didn’t want to be apart of her brand. She was already on his ass for stupid shit. But to then have to work for that Crazy!

    Sure I will still watch if there were to be another season. But really, she is suing him for some stupid shit!! She has more money than even I would know what to do with. Pay Jason off, Put a butt load into a trust for your daughter, and just lay low! I wonder how many people are going to watch her talk show?

    I heard this was all just a publicity stunt, but if Jason is counter suing for the same things, I am thinking it is pretty real, yo!

    Her show has been on in reruns thanks to the divorce. I saw the episode where she announced to her “staff” that she got the talk show. Jason found out in that meeting. In hindsight, that seemed very telling in how she viewed their relationship. I kept thinking that’s not how you tell your significant other about a huge, life-changing event. I just don’t think she has any idea how to have that type of relationship. It’s not a judgment on her but just a sad observation.

    @SMH–I remember that episode. It was right when they were moving from their condo to their new apartment…He was like WTF! Why did we just spend all this money to have everything done last week just for you to say that you are going to be in LA for the summer…They could have saved all that time and money to rent a nice place on the beach…She so knew what she was doing…a way to get out of town for the summer, not have to worry about anything. Take Bryn and use the excuse that it is just for work…

    Her talk show did not air in the Seattle area for that 6 week run…it is obvious that people watched cause it got picked up.

    Bethenny is just a flash in the pan. She will never be Jack Daniels or Jim Beam and she knows it. When folks get tired of drinking her swill and listening to her verbal diarrhea she really has nothing to fall back on. Unless she wants to sleep in the guest room of another Jil Zarin.

    Jason, on the other hand, does. He has a real career and real world skills. He will always be able to make money. Looks to me like she is just preparing for the day that will eventually come when folks ask “Who was that gal that was on one of those housewife shows, you know the one..she was skinny..and drank margaritas?” “Darn, what was her name?”

    Her talk show may have gotten picked up, but the worm has turned, the public is fickle and I think Bitchenny has lost her slavishly doting public. She was diluted enough on RHONY but on her own show, her true colors started to bleed thru, especially in the way she treated those nice in-laws of hers.

    Seems like she had a lot of baggage that she just couldn’t or wouldn’t shake. And I’m not entirely sure she is able or willing to take the high road even for the sake of her child. Sounds vaguely like her own mom.

    I wonder if The Zarin feels vindicated since she called them out and said they would get divorced. She will probably stick her abnormally large nose into it when she asked about it at a D-List gig.

    I wish B would join NYC again so they can get rid of Aviva. I would love to see B, Heather, and Carole interact. That would be priceless.
