I just read that Latin music and TV star, Jenni Rivera died in a plane crash. I guess she was in a chartered plane taking off from Monterrey, Mexico after a concert when aviation authorities lost contact somewhere after 3:30am (shortly after takeoff on Sunday morning)…they found the wreckage yesterday afternoon. On board that plane was Jenni, her publicist, her lawyer, and makeup artist (all who appeared on her Mun2 reality show). So sad! She had just signed a deal with ABC this past Wednesday to star in her own sitcom, and now this…UGH. Breaks my heart. It’s like a true La Bamba story. She was destined to be a cross-over star. R.I.P. Jenni

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Dying in a small plane crash seems to be an occupational hazard for the music industry.

That tends to happen when you overload a plane.

I’ve never heard of her, but that is sad.
The article makes her sound like a great person too.

Fear of flying is my biggest fear, for sure. Even though I had not heard of her, just imagining what her last moments of life were like makes me really sad.

    RIP Jenni

The saddest part (to me) is the five children she leaves behind.

My prayers are with her family as they grieve this sudden and tragic loss.

I’d never heard of her either but it’s very sad. I feel badly for her family.

had to look her up – but now i know that two of her kids are now orphans, and the dad of other three has been on the run for years after being convicted of molesting one of them. how awful.

3x divorced grandma of 2/mother of 5. Supposedly one of her daughters was hitting on her latest husband. It was a fucked up family. She did not deserve to die.
