mtv's jersey shore

I don’t know if you got a chance to check out MTV‘s Jersey Shore last night, but it was pretty amazing. I have to say I expected a little more story, but I guess their story is drinking, fist bumping, fighting, and making out. The show was pretty trash-tastic to say the least–it was just as I expect–The Real World on crack. But I guess I saw it coming when I read that the same producers of VH1‘s Tool Academy were producing this.

My thoughts:

Can we talk about Snooki for a second? OMG, I was going to kill her in the beginning because she was like a drunk oompa loompa. I was like “OMG, what the hell is she doing in the spa???” But, then after a while I felt bad for her, and I was rooting for her. I couldn’t stop laughing at the mispronunciation of her nickname. She was called anything from Snookers, to Snookems–SO FUNNY! It’s the little things that make me laugh.

And can we talk about J-woww’s yellow club outfit?? What the hell was she wearing? She looked like a Jerseylicious Tranny.

One thing I could have done away with was the way they shot, and edited the show. They tried to give it a “filmy/artsy” look, and let’s face it–they’re nothing artsy about the Jersey Shore.

I could go on for days about the two-hour special last night…but I’ll stop here. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor, and watch it. The second hour was a lot better than the first–so stick with it…but the show was everything was as I expected: trash-tasitc.

I think MTV is on its way to rebranding–finally!

Did you guys see it? Thoughts?

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I only got to see about the first 15 minutes last night, but I have it recorded. I can’t wait to sit down with a glass or two (or three or four…oh, what the hell, a bottle, I’m sure I will need it) and watch this trash-tastic show.

I really hope someone will be doing a recap of this show!

I hope so too, I’ll ask Flipit about it. Give it an hour b/c there is literally NO story..but the second hour gets better. the one thing i would have loved to seen vs. what they have is if they had a house full of people that already knew each other…it would have been more organic.

Hey Nads….first, I’m embarrassed to say I read this, but TMZ is reporting that Domino’s Pizza has pulled ads from future episodes of this show due to the “content…not right for Domino’s Pizza”.

It was also reported that the organization representing Italian-Americans received “thousands” of phone calls regarding the show and how it portrays Italian-Americans.

I’m going home and watch it immediately. I have a feeling this show is about to blow-up all over the place! :-)

I read that on TMZ too, LOL. Domino’s Pizza is being dramatic!

Honestly, there is NO story in the show, just drinking, making out and fighting. it’s that awful, but it’s like a car accident that you can’t stop watching.

I haven’t watched the second episode (or second half of the first?) yet, since like fine wine, this show is something to be savored.

But I found it awesome that the Guidettes all turned into the Guidos’ wives and their sisters after just a day or so.
