Jewel and Nancy O’Dell have both quit Dancing With The Stars due to injuries. Nancy tore her meniscus, while Jewel fractured both of her tibias. I would normally blame their injuries on age, but Cloris Leachman stuck it out like a champ last season, so age has nothing to do with it…it just plain ol’ sucks for them.

One of the rumored replacements for this season is Holly Madison, and we all know she can tush push…

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Ouch, meniscus tears hurt, poor Nancy.

And…how on earth did Jewel break BOTH of her legs? Ballroom dancing is vigorous, but still…

I know, so sad for both of them! ouch!!!!

I can’t post the Jewel link in the comment section, but this is from her website, “The doctors told me that not one, but both of my legs were fractured!! He said my left one was particularly bad, and that I had to not only stop dancing, but stop walking and use crutches!!! He said I had just over done it with the rehearsals and training over the past few weeks and so my muscles became fatigued and transferred the overload of stress to the bones in my leg – causing the stress fractures! He says that type of injury can happen when athletes step up the amount or intensity of their training. Typical me- I throw myself 1000% into anything I do- that’s how I went from being homeless to where I am today- but I just had no idea I could over-do dancing!
Shock does not begin to describe it. I am heartbroken to say I will not be competing in this season of Dancing With the Stars. I’m sad I won’t get to go through the rest of the experience competing with my husband, Ty.”

    So sad!!!
