It looks like TLC is trying to make Jon & Kate a franchise like Bravo did to the Housewives. TLC posted on craigslist: “TLC is now looking for NY, NJ, and CT families who are expecting twins, triplets, or more! We would capture the birth of the babies and witness their amazing first breath, first cry, and all the emotions that go along with such an incredible occasion. Then, TLC will be there as you leave the hospital and adjust to your first few days at home as a family.”

Do you think it’s doable? I think it could be interesting, but if they’re looking for another family with a million kids, they should just do the Octomom show (as much as that makes me sick). Personally I think the reason Jon & Kate did so well and is doing so well is because it was the first show of its kind…but who knows…I was a nay-sayer when Bravo brought the Housewives to New York and I ended up loving it…so this could actually work.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

A Jon & Kate “franchise”? Give me a break! I watch the show because the kids are adorable, and how Jon & Kate interact with the kids (and each other) is interesting and amusing. The show was the first of its kind and is successful because of that. Also, Jon and Kate had kids, not litters like these wanna-be rip off versions of the show that promote a couple that has 10+ kids with minimal multiples and don’t know when to stop for the good of the children and society.

I don’t watch the other large-family shows and putting “Jon & Kate” in the title wouldn’t change that.
