Yes it’s true…Kandi Burruss from The Real Housewives of Atlanta is getting her own special called The Kandi Factory. This new special will follow Kandi as she turns 2 music hopefuls into popstars. The Vice President of Development for Bravo, Eli Lehrer said, “‘The Kandi Factory’ will capture a unique look at her successful music career as Kandi transforms two music hopefuls into the next big popstar.”

From the press release:

In the special, Burruss will give two protégés the opportunity to come to Atlanta and learn the fundamentals of pop music success. She has identified three factors that have to fit perfectly together to create a pop sensation: the song, the look and the performance. Burruss and her team of experts at The Kandi Factory will work with the two contestants in order to turn them into music superstars. Will they listen to Burruss’ advice and rise to the occasion or will they bomb?

This special sounds like it’s going to be a disaster. I’m sure they made it a special to see how it’ll do to greenlight it to series. I’m so NOT watching…

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I like Kandi, but even she isn’t a pop star. She is better as a writer, with her team, but I doubt she can market someone to pop superstardom if she doesn’t yet realize that she should stop trying to put out an album because no one’s interested. Last season, she went on tour, dropped an album, and then we never heard about it again. Did it go platinum or double wood in the hood?

With that said, I like her and wish her much success. :)

I do like her, the show just sounds like something we may have seen on MTV 5 years ago, don’t you think?

Lol, my last sentence was meant to be somewhat ironic since I’d bashed her a bit in my previous paragraph. Yea,I agree, the whole concept is passe. Plus, it only works if the mentor is a bigger star. Kandi is sweet and approachable, but she’s C-list. If I want to see a musician mentor an unknown artist to stardom, I’ll watch The Voice. lol
