Platinum Sh*t star, Kara DioGuardi is going to make her Broadway Debut playing Roxie on Chicago. What a trainwreck! I didn’t realize that they were changing story on Chicago to be a comedy. I wonder if she’ll stop herself every few minutes to give herself a critique? And is she doing this to conjure up story lines for her for her new Bravo show that’s in development? After all, she has to do something to make herself seem interesting.

For those of you in NY and want to see Kara try to act sexy, she’ll be at the Ambassador Theatre for eight weeks from Monday, September 5th through Sunday, October 30th.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

NO NO NO NO NO. Why are they going to ruin one of the best musicals I have ever seen (and I have seen A LOT) with her? First, it was Ashley Simpson and now it is SKARA? WHY THE HELL ARE THEY DOING TO IT? She won’t even look good as a blonde.

I am so pissed that I want to shoot my computer. You cannot outdo Renee Zelleweger as Roxie. NO. BOOO.

Now I have to watch the movie (which I saw 3 times because it was fantastic) so I can cleanse myself. UGH

But but but…SHE SUCKS. She’s an okay singer, but her voice is a pop voice NOT a Broadway voice. (And if you’ve ever seen musical theatre, you know that there is a huge difference between the two.) UGH. I HATE that Broadway is becoming so disgustingly commercial lately. I mean, it was always commercial, but lately they’ve been casting celebrities who aren’t so great (ie Daniel Radcliffe) just to get more butts in seats, which I think is despicable. It’s the same thing when they give singers or reality stars movie roles when REAL actors are struggling. Or when they give actors who can’t sing record deals (COUGH Hilary Duff – who incidentally, can’t act either COUGH) when there are real, talented artists out there that should get deals instead. It just burns me up.

I work in the theatre, which has always been the stomping ground of people who study acting and have a passion and appreciation for the CRAFT, unlike the many idiots in Hollywood who become “actors” after being on reality shows ie Paris Hilton or are just hired for their looks and just do it because they want to be rich and famous. I do not want these idiots infiltrating the theatre, that will be the END OF THE WORLD.
