At TCAs they announced that Bravo is giving Kathy Griffin her own weekly talk show named, Kathy. Her talk show will feature everything pop culture. According to the network, she’ll rant on “the week’s biggest headlines and tabloid gossip as well as feature stand-up routines, celebrity interviews and taped segments.”

Her show would take the talk show count to two on Bravo. I love Kathy very much, but two talk shows on one cable network is excessive, don’t you think? I’m sure she’ll do just fine, but I’m curious to see how ratings go given they’re saturating the airwaves with Miss Andy five nights a week. Time will tell…until then I’ll “just tip it!”

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Ok, on the Portlandia premiere, they went to a restaurant called Around the World in 80 Plates and it was QUITE hysterical. I don’t know if anyone saw that or watches the show, but I highly recommend it. :D

@CattyFan, I never understood how a long series of stories about celebrity encounters is even remotely funny, considering she trades in pop culture stereotypes of the people she “makes fun of.” Secondly, I’ve never understood her mass gay appeal.

well, i guess i can stop tuning into maury, expecting some hot late-breaking opinions from kathy on kim kardashian’s bangs, sandwiched betwixt paternity tests, of course.

@Nikki – “I’m sorry. It’s after 5, we have a whole new menu.” I almost started crying during that scene.

And the two Gaia Book store owners who wouldn’t let the AC repair man use the word “unit.”

It might make her easier to tolerate, but as many as I would need, it would cost me my liver. So, nope. :)

Kathy Griffin is hilarious. And she has mass gay appeal because she’s stood up for gay rights and actually effing marched in rallies instead of just tweeting about it. She’s been to Afghanistan and Iraq to perform for the troops. Her book revealed a lot of personal hell that she’s had to deal with. She also pulled her pants down on stage. That bitch is a comedic gem and I bow down before her. Suck it, Jesus — Kathy Griffin is my god now!

I am one of the (apparently) few non-gay men, female fans of hers. I think she is HIGH-STERICAL. I watch every special she has (and thinks she needs way more) and loved her show and love her on NYE (much to the chagrin of my mother) and can’t wait to see her talk show!
