Kids Need To Dress Their Age!

Modern Family‘s Ariel Winter was at the Cars Land Grand Opening at Disneyland and totally didn’t dress her age. This little 14-year-old came out wearing a short J.Lo onesie with high wedges AT DISNEYLAND!! She’s 14 going on 27! I don’t get it and I know I’m sounding old by saying this, but kids need to dress their age. Sure, I was wearing onesies when I was her age, but they were to sleep in, not to wag my tail in! For God’s sakes, I was barely shaving my legs then, and figuring out how wings worked. I know I’m being dramatic, but I when I saw this picture I was like, “woah, she’s 14??”

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Took me a moment to realize it wasn’t Flipit writing this rant. Ha!

My guess is, she’s not there as a park-goer running around the park having fun – she’s working. Some stylist working for ABC/Disney dressed her like a doll. Well, at least she’s wearing a shirt and not showing “cleavage” in the skimpy top.

Agreed the outfit, hair and make up are too mature for her. I always tell young girls that they will have their time when things like that are appropriate for them. If you start too early you have nothing to look forward too then since you dressed like a hooch at 17 you’ll either get more naked or dress like a soccer mom at 25.

The thing that always gets me with these young actresses/actors is: suppose, as they get older during the run of the series, they end up becoming ugly as fuck? What happens to them then?

I don’t know that this look what age it is. Too much makeup, stripper-eque yet clownish shoes, see-through blouse and a onesie patterned with flamingoes… the makeup makes her look about thirty, the blouse is usually found on tasteless women about forty, and the pattern on the onesie is for a five-year old (onesies, by the way, started as a piece of clothing for BABIES). This is what happens when grown women start dressing like slutty toddlers: teenagers imitate them and it just gets worse.

(Although, if you think this outfit is bad, Nads, head on over to the Toddlers & Tiaras recap: the outfits there make this look like a nun’s habit.)

I don’t understand how these young girls wear those shoes. They kill MY feet and so I barely wear them at all. They are going to have some messed up feet by the time they’re 20.

I actually think the romper is cute, flat neon shoes, a non sheer top, hair in a pony tail or a braid on the side and minimal make up she would have looked fine. Whoever did her make up should be fired. I’ve noticed that a lot with some of these disney girls, my daughter is 12 and loves some of these shows but the red head on Shake it up is maybe 14 and the make up they put on her makes her look 30.

I think they call that “Danny Bonaduce Syndrome”.

Well, he was pretty homely to begin with, so there was never all that much hope for him.

Rompers are the rage this summer but she should have paired it with cute flats or sandals and lose the suggestive top. Layering it over a colored tank would’ve been more age appropriate. And definitely, too much makeup! Whatever happened to a lil lip gloss and mascara? I’m not even going to mention the hair color…

The romper is styled ironically and she’s young enough to wear it un-ironically. That’s what’s kind of sick about it.

I blame the Junior Kardashian’s for this trend. Both of those little girls already dress like they are ready for their first sex tape to be leaked. I like how Sally from Mad Men still dress age appropriate – hope she doesn’t cross over too soon.

It’s not so much about dressing their age, but how about not dressing in something so fug? When I was 14 I would have loved to be able to get dressed up, especially with money and stylists at my disposal! And although I was a Tomboy with bad taste, I still could of done better then that mess…. Just sayin….
