Kirstie Alley

I’m want to take a second  to commend Kirstie Alley on her weight loss. Tonight on DWTS she’ll be wearing the same costume she wore on her debut night, only they’ve taken it 38-inches! How incredible is that? That’s a TON of weight! I guess it’s been hard for me to see her weight loss week by week, but when you put in numbers like that–it sounds pretty impressive! I’m super proud of her. She took a lot of heat in the beginning, and did what she set out to do, shed pounds.

I think Kirstie’s a pain in the ass, but she’s the real winner in my book. She’s had to face the most challenges, and did it. Let’s hope she keeps it off this time. I hope they show a before and after pic on tonight’s show.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

If she wanted to lose weight she should have gone on “The Biggest Loser” not DWTS. This show is for dancing, something she can NOT do, which was proven last night during her free-style. She should have never been in the finals.

If it was just about dancing, they would only let the judges decide who stays and who goes. But like all the other competitions of this nature (AI, SYTYCD, etc.) it’s also about who does the audience ENJOY most…and let me tell you, it isn’t Hines Ward or the generic blonde Disney chick (and her increasingly creepy partner who has begun making Mark Cuban faces.)

Granted the producers and judges are working hard to impose their will (hence last week’s tampering with the system to ensure Ralph Macchio got the boot, and last night’s ridiculous scoring,) but at the end of the day, I would rather watch an animated Kirstie Alley try her best than the emotionless Disney baby shake her ass (which is probably how she got her “acting” job.)

It’s the same reason Pia got the boot on AI and Lauren is in the finals…because performance is more than hitting the notes or doing the steps. It’s about having a personality and a connection to what you’re are doing and to the audience.

Kristie is so pretty to me; with or without the weight. I like her because it was refreshing to see someone in the upper age bracket not come on here and not be made to look like a fool just because they are old. They could have stuck her with Got a fetish for dry humping old money makers Corky Ballas and this entire season would have played out differently. She is not the best dancer by far, I would have to give that distinction to Hines, but I hope she beats out Jailbait and Corky “I must grin and overdance” Jr.

Xenu is proud of Kirstie too! He has commanded all his minions to call and vote for her and they will ascend to the next scientology level. Tonight’s tribute to L Ron Hubbard with Kirstie erupting from a volcano should bring the house down!

I see the weight loss as a by-product. I hope she continues to stay active. She’s done much better than people who are in much better shape. Like, oh, lame ass Kate Goslin. She won’t win but I’m happy for her. Still bummed Ralph got kicked off.

@considerthis – Xenu is the one the one that zapped the weight right off. I don’t know why she doesn’t call on him more.

Hines isn’t that good at actual dancing. His upper body is stiff and he’s still dancing flat footed. He’s ok, typical football player on this show, and the judges are fawning all over him because he can actually move…doesn’t mean it’s that good. Kirstie definitely has better quality of movement and dances *in* the music, as opposed to *on top of* the music like Hines and Chelsea.
