   I hope she takes that nasty, selfish, egomaniacal rapist/serial philanderer for everything he’s worth. And then she needs to go get tested for STDs and make sure he didn’t give her a gift that keeps on giving…or taking. Whichever.

   I take a bit of issue with calling a man a rapist when charges were dropped and there were no convictions. But I agree with all the other adjectives.

   Some men want to get married to have children but they want to act like single men and sleep with whoever. I never understand why they are so dumbfounded when their wives leave them.

   To answer your question, I think it’s pretty hard not to be a douchebag when you’ve spent your life being surrounded by people — in school, in college, — who make sure you don’t have to focus on anything but the one thing you’re already good at, moving a ball around. The pro-athletes who manage to keep it together and mature enough to keep a marriage together are kind of extraordinary.

   I agree about the rape thing. Didn’t that woman pretty much prove herself to be a (really gross) liar? Also, I don’t understand this “you go girl” attitude toward his wife. She stayed with him for 8 years after he admitted his adultery, so pretty much any sympathy I have toward her is gone. Not that I really had any to begin with.

   Well, we’ll never really know the truth about the rape thing but I tend to believe it was consensual. Still, he was a man whore for all the reasons mentioned, and pretty stupid to not get a prenup so yeah, a pretty good payday for her.

   Has there ever been a case where a celebrity hasn’t beaten a rape charge on the grounds that the accuser was a stripper/whore/illegal immigrant/publicity seeker? I’m really asking. I can’t think of one.

    For the rape thing…..okay, I guess we’ll never know ONE HUNDRED percent…but my roomates in Colorado were all friends with Katelyn…from what I hear, the vaginal sex was consensual; but that then turned into anal sex which was NOT. Pretty tricky to prosecute, unfortunately.

    To me, all I need to know about Mr. Bryant came out of his mouth, not his alleged victim’s. How did his story evolve again?

    1. “I don’t even know who that girl is.”
    2. “Oh, I remember. She was the desk clerk. I barely spoke to her.”
    3. “Well, ok. She came up to my room. But nothing happened.”
    4. “OK. We had sex. But it was totally consensual!”
    5. “I’ve made some bad decisions, and I apologize to my fans. And especially to my wonderful, wonderful wife, who I want to present with this giant diamond at this press conference. So that, you know, she won’t leave my philandering ass.”

    I think by the time your story is in its fourth iteration, people are fairly justified in assuming the worst about you. And Kobe Bryant has always looked like he needed the smug taste slapped out of his mouth, anyway.

    I agree with all of you, even though i am a fan of Kobe’s ball skill…not the man himself, the man himself does need the piss slapped out of him. If you cheated once and your wife forgave you, you are a lucky man. There were rumors of him philandering before Vanessa left him, so if you bought her affection the first time to keep half your fortune, then SHE slapped the smug out of you with a couple million dollar bills…Im not fan of her, but between the two of them im on her side. I guess he’s the “it cant happen to me” guy-Magic was like that too, until reality said otherwise. Not as bright as his SATs implied is he?

    Catty she choose to stay, neither are on the moral high ground. Second they teach pro players to either do oral or use the back door (no kids) thus the accusation of rape. She just didn’t want the back door. Thirdly I don’t give a shit about strangers. Staying with him so she can get more money makes her nothing but a high priced call girl.
