L.A. Reid’s biggest regret was letting Lady Gaga go. L.A. Reid, who has made many music careers also signed on Gaga, and then let her go to spread her wings…As Julia Robers would say in Pretty Woman, “Big Mistake, HUGE!”

L.A. told Access Hollywood,

“This artist came to my office… she played piano, she had on white go-go boots – like, all the way up to here, thigh high boots — she sat down at that piano, she played and she sang. When she was done, I said, ‘You are an amazing artist, a true star, and you will change music,’ and I signed her. Her name was Lady Gaga.

Then, a few months later, I got her demos, and it was a work in progress, and I was having a bad day. I’m telling you, I was having a bad day, and I said, ‘You know what? I really don’t like it. Let her have her freedom, let her go find her career.’ It was the worst thing I’ve ever done. I felt bad, but I swear to you, like a month later Justin Bieber came and redeemed me, so, you know, I survived it all.”

Wow, I wonder if what he did with Gaga made him feel like Brian Dunkleman after he supposedly quit American Idol? The good news is that Gaga made it as a performer, and L.A. Reid is still a star maker.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

You guys know he was married to Pebbles, right? As in “Girlfriend, how couldja let’im treatcha so bad, uh-uh-oh-ooh-oh?” Also, their spoiled little brat of a child was featured on My Super Sweet 16 and L.A. paid $8,643,925.17 to have Kanye West perform for the brat, himself, Pebbles, and the brat’s godfather, Diddy… the man truly IS kind of a douche. But I still love me some Pebbles…. “Do you wanna ride in my Mercedes, boy… tell me whatchoo gonna dooo, withme withme withme…”

    love, J-Mo :)

I also thought that he kind of rode Babyface’s fame to become a name producer. He was clearly more the behind-the-scenes guy while Babyface was producing/recording, but I don’t know how big he becomes without Kenneth Edmonds.

Nice J-Mo, I am doing the snake at my desk while reading your comment.

True story…I was getting my drink on for my countdown to 30 dirties and I hear this oh so familiar voice. It was Pebbles singing “Girlfriend”. Well of course after so many drink I was that girl in the bar “sing it girl! That is my SONG!!!” (hands in the air, swirling around)

So, why would we take his advice on The X Factor when he couldn’t even realize what Lady Gaga has?

I think he was saying in terms of fame and money he broke even. I will try and give him credit for not thinking the talent level is the same. Because Gaga (in my opinion) sucks and Beebs REALLY SUCKS. It’s a fine line but if you squint hard enough you can see it

I love Pebbles (doing snake as well) but remember she was pegged as the reason TLC was BRIZZZOKE..She was founder/manager/producer of some of their biggest hits and apparantly that is why she was able to afford that Mercedes Boy.

I cannot even fit on this page how many hits/artists/records LaFace in their heyday and after is responsible for. So he let Lady Gaga slip through the cracks…MEH Can’t win them all

Gaga is manufactored persona. Her real musical ability is nothing like Lady Gaga. If you do a search for her real name you will see her perform before being Lady Gaga and be blown away.

There is a reason why Lady Gaga’s management didn’t want Weird Al do a parody song on her. They were afraid people would see she was manufactured.
