While the majority of America was out doing all things Black Friday, Larry Hagman passed away. The man who played the legendary J.R. Ewing died this past Friday of complications from his recent battle with cancer. He was 81.

For me, Larry Hagman was a staple in my house growing up. My whole family was basically fresh off the boat, and literally only watched game shows to learn English (primarily The Price Is Right with the occasional Family Feud, and Pyramid), but there were two shows they watched religiously that weren’t game shows (and they could all agree on)…and those were Dynasty and Dallas. How good were those shows (the original Dallas, that is)??? J.R. was like the evil uncle that could tell you to f*ck off with a smile and you still liked him somehow. So sad that he’s gone now. He was brilliant, and in my opinion, changed primetime forever.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Nads ITA and for us older viewrs he made our childhood tv viewing fun with I dream of Jeannie. It was a fun change in direction when he went from playing a bemused astronaut to the scheming JR Ewing. We had an office pool going on who killed JR. Fun times. Great actor. RIP Mr. Hagman.

@Classy…it was Sue Ellen’s younger sister, Kristen. They had been having an affair, she went off the deep end, and shot him.

My mom was an avid Dallas watcher, so that meant we all had to watch it! It was along time ago, I was probably 7 or 8! I can still remember the theme song! So Sad. I did catch an episode of the “new” Dallas, and he was just so frail looking. May he RIP!
