launch my line

Did you guys watch the premiere of Launch My Line last night?

I’m going to make it quick…here are my thoughts:

-Launch My Line is WAY better than Fashion Show. Period.

-The set of Launch My Line made the set of Fashion Show look like Maury Povich.

-I like the format of a professional with an expert.

-I liked the ticking clock–it added stakes, and made the show feel more exciting.

-I’m still on the fence about Dean and Dan (Dsquared2) as hosts…I know they’re big time in their field, but I find them a little annoying–I’m hoping they’ll grow on me.

Hear my thoughts on the designers, and some of the outfits after the jump.

WARNING!!! SPOILER ALERT!

Um, how the hell did jumpsuit lady (Vanessa) manage to not get kicked off? Her design looked like Juicy Couture puked on Forever 21. It was atrocious. I was really sad that she didn’t get sent home.

And, can we talk about Louanna Rawl’s dress? Her dress was great, but it was nothing to write home about–I found it kind of plain. I still can’t believe she won the whole challenge! My personal favorite of the night was Kathy Rose’s yellow outfit–but she got NO attention! Ugh.

Before I leave, I have to say that I can already tell that Marilyn is going to be drama, and that I’m going to HATE Roberto.

Thoughts???

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

LooOOoove it. Anyone who says “But I was born on a volcano” ensures a spot on my ‘I can’t stand to watch this but have to’ list of shows.
Hope it’s getting recapped here. I think D2 will be great judges, think the high-ego contestants will be appropriately crazy.

The Show is brilliant. I have just joined TV GASN and am excited to discuss this show with fellow viewers.

I had grown weary of Project Runway with the same reputation over and over again. And the characters getting worse and worse. Season 5 of PR was the last great season they had. So this show is a refreshing new look at the collaboration of experts and designers. This is an incredible show for us fashion lovers. I like the fact that they are trying to make a cohesive collection and what a designer goes thru to make an entire collection.

My favorite designers so far are Marilyn Crawford(I think she has the smarts and the commitment to pull this off), The Dandy Team(Patrick and Roberto are the Stars of the show), and Emil and Kathy(they seem to work so nicely together)
