M.I.A. Will Be Held Responsible If The NFL Gets Fined

If the FCC decides to dock the NFL for flipping the bird, M.I.A. will have to foot the bill. The NFL was smart in making the performers sign a contract and putting them on the hook if they did anything wrong. They learned their lesson after Nipplegate. Here’s my question, if she knowingly signed a contract and still flipped the bird, she’s an idiot. I know M.I.A. has a ton of money, but it’s not like she has Madonna cash to be frivolously flipping people off. That’s her bad.

Who knows, this could have been a PR move–she’s been out of the limelight for a while because she had a baby and kind of needs the press–if that case, the fine could have been more than worth it.

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

    As far as I know, within the past few years, flipping the bird has been blurred from pre-produced content (non-line shows). I remember a ruling from about a year ago that didn’t hold producers of live shows responsible for cursing on-air and I would bet that flipping the bird could also be protected.

    You’re right, if she was fined, the entire non-fiasco has been a ton of press for her, and I bet it wouldn’t be as much as she got for performing on the danged Super Bowl!

    It is entirely a PR stunt. The amount of the fine this twit might receive is a drop in the bucket for the mounds of free press she’s gotten. And there are plenty of people who never heard of her and certainly wouldn’t have remembered her performance by Monday who today are still talking about her.

    Won’t get me to buy any of her crap, though. If she was a talented performer, she wouldn’t have needed a stupid stunt to get people to pay attention…not when you consider she had an audience of millions. But she couldn’t make it on her “singing,” so she made herself a story instead.

    I know Madonna is pissed. This was HER moment. And after the Super Bowl all people are talking about are the phalanges of a second rate performer. How dare Madonna be usurped by a finger..a dastardly, dirty digit! Fine or fine…M.I.A. will soon be M.I.A. from any other event Madonna attends. Can you say…blacklisted?
