Madonna wasn’t happy about M.I.A. flipping the bird at the Super Bowl. She told Ryan Seacrest, “I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager…irrelevant thing to do…there was such a feeling of love and unity there what was the point? It was just out of place.”

It’s actually an interesting interview. She seems somewhat normal in it…Ryan is well, being Ryan.

Here’s the interview (go to 7:20 to hear what she says about M.I.A.):

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

All of that translates to: “Wah-Wah! M.I.A. took the spotlight off of me.”

But I do agree…how silly is the whole middle finger thing? I mean, we stopped flipping the bird for the cameras in the ’90′s.

Love, energy, and positivity. Yeah, I can feel it. It’s all around me.

    Wait, no.

That’s New Zealand I’m thinking about.

I would have been upset. Bitch I let you on stage with me with one of the biggest audiences you’ll ever see and you flip the bird to the camera. I am sure they were given the run down of things to do and not do and MIA did them any way.

Hell she might have put MIA on the tour in some cities. Sucks for you MIA. Go back to your mega rich husband and super cute kid…no wait…that doesn’t sound bad?!!??

The only love that I was feeling during Madonna’s show was the love that she felt for herself. But many folks certainly liked her show and enjoyed it. OK, Like A Prayer got me for a min..

My first question when I saw the finger was, “who is MIA mad at”? Is this some type of protest against something that they had such strong beliefs in that they felt the need to bring attention to it now?” Still didn’t think it was cool, but I honestly thought that we would hear some kind of reason for it the following morning. Because that is what celebrities do.

    No reason.

BTW, Our troops watched that game.

@NWMTV – So, are you saying you’re from New Zealand…?

Also, I think this whole flipping the bird thing is ridiculous from two sides. 1) It’s a finger, it’s not that big a deal. Get over it. but also 2) What was the point? It just seems like a really dumb, poserish thing to do – something like Avril Lavigne used to do when she was first starting out. Lame.

Or something Madonna would have done when she was younger. Still, it was silly and in poor taste. Definitely unnecessary.

I’m just glad somebody on that Super Bowl stage had some class and that’s Madonna.
