I know this is old news, but just for the record, Mariah Carey is supposedly earning the previous rumored number of $18 million. That would make her the highest paid reality TV judge. I wonder what J.Lo is thinking right now??? Hell, I wonder what Britney thinks? She only makes $16 million, and from what I remember negotiations were difficult with her. I wonder if it’s because she doesn’t like to wear shoes?

A source told US Weekly, “Mariah is getting paid $18 million with a one-year option to do Idol, making her the highest paid judge on any music competition show.”

Mariah said in a statement, ”I’m currently in the studio working on my new album and its first single, ‘Triumphant,’ which will be out early next month. I can’t wait to channel my creative energy as a part of this show which is a massive global phenomenon.”

Hopefully her presence will help American Idol come back up a little, but at this point it’s going to be an uphill battle.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Yep. Cause Mariah Carey needs more money. This is just plain obscene. If she had any integrity, she’d donate most of that to charity. Or better yet, pay her fair share of taxes.

Calm down itchy. I’ll bet she doesn’t even get to keep half of that as it is, after paying taxes and her agent. If she had to pay as much in taxes as you want her to pay, it would not be worth her while to do the show and all of humanity would be deprived of her extraordinary judging. Is that what you want?

For $18 million, maybe she could have mentioned her AI judging gig FIRST, then plugged her single SECOND.

Eh, she definitely deserves more than JLo and Britney. Still way too much money, though. They all need a pay cut.

I saw a couple of headlines that said something to the effect of, “Carey is Idol’s New Judge.” And for an instant I thought, “Jim Carey? Weird! Awesome, but weird.”

It would be soooo much better if that were the case….

If we’re going to occupy AI, then I’m going out to buy a portable generator and a tent with a screened in foyer. Keep in mind, however, that I’m going to be one of those hooligans who cares nothing about the issue, but is only there to cause a ruckus, and maybe throw a coke bottle filled with urine at Seacrest in the parking lot.

The way I figure it, if they don’t tear gas me, my “occupation” has been a failure.
