I’m so sad that Michael Scott is leaving The Office tonight. There are many amazing characters on The Office, but the show will never be the same without Michael Scott. I do admit that I’ve had an on-again, off-again relationship with the show, similar to Sammi and Ronnie’s relationship, but at the core–I’m a true fan, and I’m sad to see Michael go. E! did an interview with the series director, Paul Feig, and he promises that Steve will get a proper sendoff. He said, “I think it’s both. But what I love is I think it’s the perfect exit that Michael deserves. Can I amend that last statement? I should say pretty much everyone gets their moment with Steve.”

I’m still in shock that Steve did 148 episodes! That’s nuts! Who will replace him? The Hollywood Reporter did an interesting breakdown of possible replacements–some of the people they mentioned were Ricky Gervais, Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, Jim Carrey, Ray Romano, Catherine Tate, James Spader. Think any of them will do it??

Here’s the promo for tonight’s episode. It kind of makes me want to cry. “That’s what she said…”

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Nads, I totally agree–it is so sad. I was weepy at the end of last week’s episode. I’ll have to get a new ringtone and desk calendar after he’s gone…

Oh lawd, I’m gonna be bawling all through this episode tonight. I cried at the end of the last episode and get teary-eyed at the previews for tonight. I will be watching with tissue in hand. :P

Is it weird that I had a dream about this finale?? OMG, the whole episode played out in my dream. It was very emotional. I will definitely miss him but the show only probably has about a year left so as for replacements Gervais said he will absolutely not do it. Depending on how Will Ferrel goes he can probably hang in there for a year. Unless they bring David Wallace back…

I don’t think the show will last without another character that’s as sympathetically annoying as Michael Scott. Carell played it to perfection.

I’d be surprised if Gervais committed to a role on the show, but I’d love to see him do it. He’s one of the finest comedic actors working today.

I’m not a fan of Will Ferrell (that doesn’t mean I hate him), but I’ve enjoyed his character on the show quite a bit. It’d be great if he continued to develop it.

I’ve got the tissues ready for tonight. Last week’s “Seasons of Love” tribute really got me. I fully expect to be a puddle tonight. Farewell, Michael Scott! Ride off into the sunset with your nerdy love.

And now, after the episode? It was good. So wonderfully understated. From the moment that he spoke with Jim to the end, I was a blubbery mess. I think my dog was concerned…

I was doing kind of OK until he JUST MISSED PAM and then I lost it! lol
