I thought the memorial was very sad, but very sweet. I know that some California tax payers are upset that they’re going to have to pay for the memorial, but I say who cares…we’ve paid for worse things…plus we’re in debt anyway, what’s another 3 million, right?

Thoughts?

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I really found it quite moving in places… however there was one uncomfortable moment for me, and that was Al Sharpton telling MJ’s kids “There wasn’t nothing strange about your daddy.” A.) Would it be so much to ask Al (for once) to use correct grammar? and B.) that’s just a bald-faced lie, there was plenty strange about Michael Jackson, but I think that’s why so many people found him so fascinating.

    love, J-Mo :)

I found the whole thing uncomfortable. Many of the people on stage were there to take advantage of the publicity. (Jermaine is clearly angling to use his brother’s death to jump start his “singing” career again.) How many of those who eulogized Mikey actually spoke to him in the last few years…or in some cases, ever?

Given the rumors of pedophilia, finding that Jackson had taken a liking to the new 12 year-old singing sensation, and invited the boy to tour with him, was decidedly creepy.

Having Sharpton dismiss the pain of the likely victims of Michael was sickening…but what can you expect from the man who so vocally supported Tawana Brawley. Sharpton wouldn’t recognize a real victim if one wallked up and bit him in the ass. He routinely chooses the wrong side.

The matching costumes on the brothers (complete with throw-back 1980s gloves) was also discomforting.

The only truly heart-wrenching moment for me was when Paris spoke. The children sadden me. They have the unfortunate options of A.) Katherine Jackson, who has already shown her ability to raise warped children B.) Debbie Rowe, who believes it was fine for Michael to crawl into bed with children or C.) Diana Ross, named by Michael in the will…but apparently not consulted first, as she has said publicly she doesn’t want the kids.

    What a mess.

john mayer “human nature.” brilliant. great choice to just play the guitar on the melody line. personally, i hate all this michael jackson nonsense and i only looked up some of the performances on youtube, but i thought that one performance was particuarily poignant and haunting.
