miss usa - north carolina

I would normally warn you with a spoiler alert notice, but frankly I’m more concerned about spoiling reality TV than I am the Miss USA pageant. Anyway, the winner of Miss USA 2009 is Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton. The first runner-up is Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, and the second runner-up is Miss Arizona USA Alicia-Monique Blanco.

You ask, what does Miss USA win?

-A year’s use of a NYC apartment

-PR team

-A two-year scholarship at the New York Film Academy

-An undisclosed salary

In case you missed: Miss California’s same-sex marriage question from Perez, here it is:

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

    Damn! I picked Miss Kentucky…

NC & CA looked like twins. CA blew her chance with her answer. Perez was NOT pleased!

    ^ completely understandable, Flip.

Don’t worry, people don’t always judge a barrel on one bad apple, if you get my gentle allusion…?

Good for her for standing up for her beliefs.

Correct me if I’m wrong here, but aren’t the judges supposed to be IMPARTIAL?

I don’t think she lost because of this, not for one second. She might have not had Perez’s vote, but there are at least 7 other judges who had to weigh in as well.

I think she’s making something out of nothing and it annoys me.

What irritated me the most about her answer is that she said she was proud to live in a country where people had the choice of a same-sex marriage or an “opposite marriage”. That’s the whole problem, not everyone does have that choice. She proved herself to be a moron. She could have still kept her beliefs intact while also giving a more diplomatic answer.
