Looks like The Hard Times of RJ Berger paved the way for MTV’s scripted world, because they’ve just greenlit two new scripted series. One being The Girl, and the other being Death Valley. The Girl is about a 15-year-old chick who gains fame after she has an accident that leads people to believe that she tried to commit suicide, and Death Valley is about the “Undead Task Force” that battles the zombies and vampires that have taken over the San Fernando Valley. These two new series will join Teen Wolf, the U.S. version of Skins, and of course the second season of RJ.

I’m kind of loving that MTV is getting more into the doc, and scripted world these days to counter their reality. As far as their new series goes, The Girl sounds interesting, but from the description, I have no interest in Death Valley. Frankly I’m done with vampires, and zombies. It’s been beat into the ground, and truly the only vampire show that’s worth watching is True Blood.

It sounds like MTV is throwing a bunch of scripted shows on the wall to see what sticks. It’ll be interesting to see.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I have to disagree with your Nads I think that Death Valley sounds like a winner. DUDE-the undead and the San Fernando Valley? WIN!

Hard Time of RJ Berger is such a good show! I’m no longer a teen but the show’s humor, wit, with my nostalgia, make for fantastic viewing.

I will never forget my single worst movie viewing experience: Teen Wolf Too. I paid a dollar to get in and felt like I didn’t get my money’s worth. I’ve never felt the same way about Jason Bateman again.

I fucking LOVE the UK version of Skins, so my expectations are set pretty high. Interested (but pessimistically prepped for disappointment)to see how well MTV does with this one…

lol @ Pixielated. A dollar was too much!

@Trister..I have three season of Skins in my Netflix and have been waiting for a good moment to start watching. I guess now’s time. I was trying to finish up season 2 of True Blood (I’m so behind on everything, lol) before starting, but I should start before the US version comes, so I can be all caught up and can compare and contrast the UK/US versions.

There were two movies I walked out of, so I can’t say they were my worst viewing experiences. One was this weirdass version of “King Lear” (it’s famous) and the other was “The Man in the Glass Booth.” I don’t know why I stayed for “Teen Wolf Too”–maybe it was like watching a car wreck. A slow, boring car wreck.
