Have you guys seen this yet? They’re having an Office convention in Scranton, Pennsylvania, October 26-28! I’m so excited!!!!!!!

Here’s the scoop: If you guys click on The Office Convention website you can get all the information for this awesome convention. I’m actually thinking of attending because I’ve never been to anything like this. I imagine it’ll be like a Star Trek convention, only with The Office. In the same breath, I’ve never felt like more of a nerd than I do now, but I love it! Say what you will.

The convention will have its kick-off at the Scranton Radisson on Friday; then a street fair on Saturday, followed by the Office Olympics; and for the Saturday night closer: a favorite character Halloween party at night. Brilliant.

Sunday has the same sort of events, like a “Dunder Mifflin Stockholders Meeting”, an awards ceremony, etc…

Other things to do while you’re there:

Go to the local theaters because they will be screening Office episodes all weekend long; or take a trolley ride to check out familiar Scranton sites.

I know, I know; for some of you this sounds like watching paint dry. But, to the rest of us it’s like going to the “99 Cent” store with $20.00. One would call another rich with that kind of money in that store.

The convention hasn’t confirmed which of the cast members will be there, but I’ll keep you guys posted if there is any interest!

Btw, do any of our readers that live in Scranton have an opinion about this thing coming to town? I’m curious as to what the attitude around town is.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

It’s not an Office convention without an awards show at Chili’s. Or something involving Chili’s. Come ON!

I know that Rainn Wilson (whom I have a big crush on–I know that’s weird) came to the Steamtown Mall in Scranton last year, and was very well-received.

I work for a film festival in Chicago, and that’s the exact weekend of it. Otherwise I’d totally be at this convention.

And FYI, there’s not an actual Chili’s in Scranton. Unfortunately. :(

bummer, as I was writing that I was thinking to myself…I better research if there is an actual Chili’s. And, of course my lazy ass didn’t…AAANNND there is no Chili’s. ha. My life story.

Have fun at the Film Festival. I think Vegoose is also that weekend if I’m not mistaken. So much going on! They must have had a convention/festival sale or something. :-)
