jersey shore response

MTV is defending Jersey Shore, as they should! They said, “The show continues MTV’s history of documenting various subcultures, rites of passage of young people, and the ways they self-identify…The Italian-American cast takes pride in their ethnicity. We understand that this show is not intended for every audience and depicts just one aspect of youth culture.”

They’re right about the Italian-American cast taking pride in their ethnicity. Those guys/girls are proud of being Guidos/Guidettes. It’s not like they’re trying to be something they’re not…they own it. I am so excited about Jersey Shore!

I posted a comment yesterday about all the Jersey we’re about to see…but just to put it out there and as a big FYI, reality television will be flooded with Jersey by the time 2010 is over. We’ll all be puking axe body spray and hair gel and wish we never got a taste…so brace yourself.

Besides Jersey Shore there are 2 other Jersey shows in development with other networks, and one that’s already being shot (that I helped produced). The one that I worked on is for the Style Network, and it looks pretty amazing so far (by that I mean, it’s like a trashy Hills). It’s called Jerseylicious, and it’s set to air next Spring. You’ll love it…More info to come when we’re closer to air date…but until then…Jersey Shore, here we come!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

OMG I’m so ready for all these shows. The Jersey Shore True Life epis were by far some of the most interesting, if only for the trainwreckiness.

As evidenced by the pretty ladies in your screen grab, the people on this show aren’t exactly being exploited. They are begging for it. People who are walking sterotypes can’t exactly claim victimization. Sad but true.

MTV teased us for years with the two episodes of True Life that center on the Jersey Shore crowd.

Jersey Shore means orange skin, tons of hair product, tight clothes that although they cost a lot, are very tacky. And of course, the fist pump dance that all the boys do.

I can’t wait. It’s a place I’m dying to see, but never want to go there. And thanks to MTV, my dream is about to come true.

Come on “yous guys and watch”
