Last night I went to the Paris Hilton press conference announcing her new greenlit series Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. The show is set to air in the 4th quarter of 2008 on MTV and people that want to be Paris’ best friend can start uploading their profiles to www.parisbff.com The contestants will be picked by online voters, the producers, the casting director and of course Paris herself.

Paris Hilton’s My New BFF will be 10-episodes and it will follow 20 contestants vying for Paris’ attention and love as a B.F. The winner will get “an all-access pass to the VIP section of the VIP section and life lessons from the master of contemporary Hollywood celebrity.”

The big press conference was held at a home in the Hollywood Hills, and it was unlike anything I’ve ever been to before. I got the invite and it said that it was at a secret location. We were told to park our cars at a certain parking lot, and then we’d be taken to this “secret location” by shuttle. I got to the location after the driver got us lost (but the wait was worth it)…and there it was: a huge pink carpet that went through the whole house and out to the patio where the press conference was being held. In the house they had an open bar, tables of cupcakes, cookies, and pop rocks all the color pink. And just outside they had a photo booth and then of course the whole section where the press conference was being held. The conference was good, but my A.D.D. mind was so obsessed with the cookies and cupcakes that I couldn’t wait for the press part to end so I could eat ;-)

Here are some of the conference questions:
I got one question in and that was:
Nads: Is there a weight restriction on your new best friend?
Paris: No weight restriction, I’ll take you any size you come.

Good political answer Paris!!! I would really like to see Paris have a fat best friend. I think it would be good for her. Just my opinion…

Here are some other questions asked and answered:
Q: What are you looking for in a best friend?
Paris: someone that I can just trust, someone who won’t stab me in the back like has happened a lot in this town, someone I can have fun with

Q: Does your new best friend have to be a girl?
Paris: No, I’ll take either girl or guy, it doesn’t matter

All the Nicole Richie questions were not answered. At one point she gave a big no comment to one of the Nicole questions. She did however say she was still planning on going to Africa, and still wanting to open her home for battered women. I’m sure that’ll have to wait until she finds her new best friend and they can have a spin-off series, Paris and BFF go to Africa!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.
