Here’s a typical Nads story that happened to me yesterday:
Yesterday I was at the Sunset Gower studios in Hollywood. I was in going in for an Oxygen show, and I was outside one of the sound stages. I knew that Heroes shot at Sunset Gower, but I was told that the show had wrapped and everyone was gone. I didn’t even think that I would actually run into any of the actors. I was minding my own business when someone from the Oxygen production was saying, I wonder if anyone out here is looking for the Oxygen show. And, me the big mouth yells to this guy on his cell phone, “Hey you here for the Oxygen show?” I thought I was making this dumb obvious joke of a random guy searching for the Oxygen casting offices wandering aimlessly.

The guy on the cell phone walked closer, and I just felt my face getting warmer and warmer. Sure enough, the Heroes star, Masi Oka (not knowing it was him because my eyes are so bad) walks up to me and the guy I was talking to and introduces himself.

I right away had one of those moment of “OMG!!! What did I just say?”

Masi said, “What? Did you ask me something?” And, me being the comedian couldn’t back out of my joke, and said, “Oh, I was just asking if you were looking for the Oxygen Casting.” There was a long awkward silent pause that must not have been more than a few milliseconds but felt like HOURS. Then, Masi laughed and said, “yeah, totally!”

All I felt was this huge weight off my chest and the biggest sigh of relief. I felt so stupid and I never thought I would run into Masi randomly, or even more so run into Masi and ask him if he was at the studios (that he shoots at) for an Oxygen show.

Thank God, he thought it was funny and took the joke. Mind you, had my stupid eyes or brain worked, I would have NEVER made that joke!!! He had an awesome sense of humor, and the conversation was brief. And typical of me, I inserted my foot in my mouth, but for once I didn’t get in trouble for it. Moral of the story, don’t yell things at people if you don’t have your contacts or glasses in…having a working brain helps too. :-)

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.
