Sony is pulling the plug on The Nate Berkus Show after this season. Sad, but I can’t say I watched it…The only Oprah inspired talk show I watch every now and then is Dr. Oz’s show. Not gonna lie, but it’s pretty damn awesome. I love a doc that can tell me about my poop.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Same here….I will occasionally tune in to Dr. Oz. He actually has some good tips on there.

I guess Nate could always live in Oprah’s pool house.

I tried to watch this show but he is so dry. I mean, Oprah has endorsed an mini-empire of talk shows..Dr. Oz for health, Rachel Ray for food, Dr. Phil for therapy, why not add a design/decorating show to the list? Except how many episodes do you need that shows people how to maximize space in their tiny apartments or how reupolstering a chair can change the look of a room? He tried to branch out to food and fashion (dress for less!) and cooking segments but who cares? His personality isn’t upbeat enough to carry a show. What’s worse..He didn’t have giveaway! If I’m going on a talk show, I want there to be a giveaway!

Don’t feel sorry for him..he still decorates Oprah’s homes and she’ll probably put him on her network.

Glitterous beat me to the punch. Never heard of him. I wonder if he’ll start showing up on the Real Housewives now.

Most. Boring. Host. Ever. I always wanted to light a joint and watch him to see if it would improve my perception but decided every time that it just wasn’t worth wasting the weed.

I would DVR it if a guest sparked my interest but I never really ended up watching many of them. And on a cost level.. he redecorated rooms for people and his show had to cost more to produce than getting lungs and hearts and poop for Dr Oz.

Nate Berkus ad Dr. Oz have one thing in common – both have shitty shows

Tremendous. His show was filled with the lamest, most obvious tips ever. I got sucked in once or twice by the sheer stupidity of it.

@Glitterous, @Maryedith: Nate Berkus was one of the specialists that Oprah put her on show toward the end of her run. Like mentioned above, Dr. Oz discussed health, Dr. Phil discussed therapy, Suze Orman discussed money, and so on. I can’t say that I’m disappointed that his show was cancelled, he’s kind of a boring person and didn’t have the personality to carry a talk show and didn’t have the name to get interesting guests. You’d think an openly gay talk show host would be a tad stereotypical in his actions, but I guess we have Anderson for that now.
