Hey Gasmii! There’s a new show starting tonight on IFC called Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings that follows the hilarious duo, Rhett and Link, doing commercials for local businesses.

The show chronicles Rhett and Link’s journey of shooting commercials from start to finish. However, they don’t just shoot any commercial–their commercials are super fun, low budge, and hilarious. I’ve watched the first two episodes already, and was completely entertained by their kitschy sense of humor and their pure love for meeting business owners and wanting to help them. The concept all came about when they decided to make real commercials for real businesses when it blew up on youtube. Link said (about their new IFC show), “You get to see our whole process, the fact that we dropped in on a business knowing very little or nothing, but within 48 hours we’ve conceptualized and shot one or two commercials. It take what we’ve done on youtube and just expanded it in terms of a television show.”

I give it a thumbs up! I interviewed the guys yesterday and will get the video up next week sometime, but in the meanwhile, check out the show tonight and one of my favorite commercials (below):

Check out the season premiere of Rhett & Link: Commercial Kings tonight on IFC at 10PM ET/PT followed by a live chat at 10:30 on IFC.com

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Add my thanks for the heads up. I expected it to be “quirky” and funny but I didn’t expect it to be as charming as it was. And since “my cat” likes to “climb things and get high” I might have to check into the Holiday Hotel for Cats!
