Rumor was that Fox and producers were going to cut Ryan Seacrest’s salary for next year, but Nigel Lythgoe has stepped up to the plate and has agreed to make up the difference if that happens. TMZ reported that Nigel thinks Ryan is “extremely important” to the show, and I agree with him. I know Ryan isn’t the most compelling host, but he’s part of the Idol brand and it’d be a shame to lose him. Good on you, Nigel. Way to save the day and contribute to the downfall of society!!! Afterall, Ryan’s going to need the money after his network flops.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Did you see last night’s ep, Nads? They had a contestant that was a Seacrest look-a-like and even delivered Ryan’s lines much the same. Randy asked him if he took Ryan’s job would he require the same salary and the lad said, “I’d work for free!” HAHAHAHA!! Nigel was in the room for all this which made it even more funny.. (who knew Nigel was sitting off to the side for all the auditions? I didn’t until a girl ran off screen and hugged him and the camera panned to the right. Good on him, for taking a back seat, and letting his three “judges” get all the camera time.)

I still haven’t watched. It’s on my DVR. I’ll be watching this weekend. I’ve met Nigel a couple times, and was super impressed by how nice he was. He was a real dude and not pretentious in the least bit. Three years ago (before he got more involved on Idol), he sat in front of us at the Idol finale-in the audience. People were stopping him left and right and I just thought how awesome is this dude…he’s sitting in the audience watching his own show as executive producer. I know he’s more involved now, so that would never happen now, but I thought it was pretty damn cool!
