Tracy Morgan is now in trouble for using the R-Word. I’m sorry I’m laughing at this article, it’s not the content–it’s dumb Tracy Morgan! Doesn’t this story sound like it could be an episode of 30 Rock? I guess this past weekend Tracy was on stage and he blurted out, “Don’t ever mess with women who have retarded kids. Them young retarded males is strong.  They’re strong like chimps.”

Again I bring up the notion that comics shouldn’t have to apologize for their jokes, but when you’ve just pissed off all the gays in the country, it’s probably a smart idea to not go after special needs. Worst part about it is that I’ve heard that joke out of a ton of comics, problem is that they’re not under a microscope like Tracy is right now. TRACY, stay home and put duct tape over your mouth!

Do you think he’s going to have to go on an apology tour for this one? Ugh, he’s such a mess.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Should I be ashamed that I still think the word “retard” is funny? (Then again, I can’t hear the radio say that the temperature is 69 degrees without giggling…)

Tracy Morgan just ain’t funny. I don’t the appeal.

@NWMTV, I don’t think you should be ashamed at all. I laughed at my boss the other day when he said “I want some sausage for breakfast.”

I still use retarded in regular conversation. For example..”I think actually typing out or saying the ‘n-word’ is so retarded; just say the actual word. No black people will jump out of the bushes and beat you if you utter the actual words! Living in this PC world sucks all the fun out of life.

I think Morgan is hoping the “retards” and “gays” will start a war to get the right to beat him down. It will go on for 5 years, and by the time it’s done, they’ll all have forgotten why they were fighting to begin with, and he’ll be off the hook.

That Tracy Morgan, he’s a wily one!

it does seem to be increasingly hard to always be using the socially accepted term for race, or preference or special need . . . I honestly don’t think most people flub them on purpose to be offensive, and I suppose it’s good to pay attention to our manners when it comes to these things. Half the time, I think the “accepted” word is as bad or worse than the other, “Little Person” comes to mind . . . to me, that seems demeaning . . .

The other problem is, these words keep changing, so to keep up with the latest PC adjective can be an adjustment. I still don’t love “African American” instead of black, because I don’t mean anything bad by saying someone is black, same as saying I’m white to me, but it could be my generation . . . I dunno . . . it’s the prejudice assholes that ruin it for the rest of us!

Personally, I hate the N-word . . . I just always have . . . there’s no good reason for that word to exist . . . and I’m glad to have a way to refer to it without having to saying coz I die a little inside to roll that off my lips. It’s just soooo hateful and ignorant, and represents such a low period in humanity . . . IMHO.

As far as the “R” word goes . . . .honestly, something can be retarded without it meaning to insult special needs people. And, speaking of un-pc . . . As a gay man, I still think something can be “gay” without having anything to do with me. I guess it should bother me.. . . . but meh . . . there’s so many more important things to worry about.

As for Tracy . . .um . . . he needs to sit down with some people, not to apologize, but perhaps to see that no matter what word he used, that just ain’t funny . . . it’s actually pretty mean. My heart goes out to any mother, or family, or husband, or wife or lover . .. anyone who is caring for someone disabled. God bless ‘em for caring!

I don’t use African American because the black people born in this country are not African. And an African American can be white…as evidenced by the guy who came to this country from South Africa, and ended up writing a book about his experience. For example he correctly marked African American on his college application and the college got all offended. And I never use the “n word,” but I don’t support the release of the edited Huck Finn book which removed the word.

As for Tracy…maybe he just likes people talking about him.

Trying to be PC these days is like traversing a mine field.

To me, this all about a lack of home training! My momma always taught us the familiarity you have with family and friends in your own setting is totally different from when you are in public. Please Tracy, I know you have a black momma..get some home training!!!

Is this joke even funny though? I’ve never understood the appeal of Tracey Morgan, and I like my jokes very un PC.
