jonas brothers exclusive coverage larry king

I totally get the buzz about the Jonas Brothers. I was once a teeny-booper and loved The New Kids on The Block, and all the other crappy manufactured bands similar to the Jonas Brothers…but can they please not invade my CNN? I’ve been up trying to watch this damn Iran coverage and I have to sit through a half-hour of Larry King exclusively cover the Jonas Brothers’ World Tour asking them hard hitting questions about their love life (in which they avoided), their new album, and other typical Larry King questions. Don’t get me wrong, I love Larry King, but to cover their World Tour exclusively?

The funniest thing about all of this is having to sit through promo blocks that go a little like this: “Iran’s votes aren’t being counted and people are dying in protests” cut to: Screaming kids and Larry King coming on saying “I’ve got exclusive coverage on The Jonas Brothers World Tour…only on CNN!”

Come on CNN, give it a rest. I know it’s pop culture and everyone is in a J.B. frenzy these days, but don’t invade my damn news channel…and CNN: leave poor Larry out of this…he’s getting too old to deal with this s#it.

If this is CNN’s way of trying to bridge the gap and bring in a new audience, just don’t…or at least bring in a younger correspondent to deal with the younger demo.

Poor Larry…

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Nads, I’m not a Jonas Brothers fan, but I will say it’s unfair to call them a “manufactured” band. First, they’re brothers. They weren’t thrown together by some producer. Second they play their own instruments and write their own songs. Like their music or not, you can’t say they are any more manufactured then any other band that appeals to a particular demographic.

my 10 an 12 yr old daughters were wathcing Larry King last night while I watched … umm whatever crap tv I watched. (rerun of 30 Rock I think???)

ANNND from what my girls tell me they are two brothers and one other non-brother. Maybe not completely manufactured but def Disney chosen and shoved down our throats!

Actually they are all three brothers – Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas. And they are cute and light and bubblegummy. I agree with Nads – they aren’t really CNN caliber.

But then again Larry also interviewed Speidi last week – so I am not sure I feel sorry for “Poor Larry” – maybe “Poor Larry” needs to stop being a sell out suck up.

Ugh, I can’t stand the Jonas Brothers. Any of those Disney kids nowadays have no real talent – Miley Cyrus and the Hannah Montana crew, the Jonas Brothers and all of those other terrible tv show casts.

It’s depressing to me that CNN covers this. Why can’t they leave this stuff to MTV and cover REAL news?
