As we’ve all been reading, and NOT watching…OWN is not doing well. In fact, it’s doing so poorly, that the network it replaced, Discovery Health, used to get higher ratings. Ouch. So, now the Big O is going to intervene. She’s announced that she’s giving the network a “reboot.” Unfortunately, that poor network needs more than a “reboot” to keep viewers.

I don’t get it, did Oprah think she could just start a network, and the people would come like Field of Dreams?

A network spokesperson said, “We’re doing a lot of changes to the schedule.” I know that’s not saying much, but I’m assuming they’re going to shake up the shows, and hopefully spice it up with better programming. As is, the network has an old school Lifetime feel to it without the movies.

At this point, I think the only thing that can bring in ratings is if Oprah made a cameo on every show.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Getting rid of Dr. Phill would be a great start. Yuck.

An hour a day of her inflated head is too much for me. Did she really think an entire network devoted to her ego would go over well?

I actually like OWN but the type of programming it has does not appeal to the prime TV watchers..its more of the Lifetime crowd.

Of course she thought an entire network devoted to her ego (oops, I mean vision) would be a smash. She probably had a vision of herself illuminated in a shaft of ghostly blue TV light, surrounded by a plain of prostrate, desperate, Oprah’s Favorite Things giveaway-seeking Oheads.

Then, in her vision, Nate Berkus rubs O’s corns and calls her “Momma”, Obama calls her cell and asks for another 7 billion for economic stimulus, and Gadaffi drops by Mohitos.

And jeez, with all her money, why can’t she get those bags under her eyes fixed??
