Patti Stanger was on Watch What Happens Live last night and made some comments about the gays and Jewish men. Her comments came fresh off the heels of her opinions she shared about smart single women on New York Live. I know she was just trying to be her sassy self, and be the “expert,” but she’s ruffled some feathers.

She told Andy last night on WWHL“In the gay world, it will always be open. … There is no curbing the gay man.” She then said to Andy, “I have tried to curb ‘you people.”

Andy responded with, “I am a gay and am down for the monogamy.”

Patti responded with, “When was the last time you had a boyfriend?”

This all came a week after she slammed smart single women on New York Live. She told the hosts, “They won’t date outside their zip code, let alone outside the city. They are city snobs. Real men that are making money in this economy are buying homes in short sales and foreclosures out in the suburbs, getting their homestead set up for their families, and [women say] ‘I won’t go to Connecticut.’ This is where the men are.”

Here’s the truth, Patti is nothing more than an over-opinionated television star that thinks she’s a “matchmaker.” The fact that some people believe she’s a credible matchmaker is mistake number one. I don’t know why everyone is getting their panties in a wad over Patti just NOW. She’s a fraud and says things because she thinks her opinions matter–like every great narcissist.

UPDATE: She’s apologized.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

“She’s a fraud and says things because she thinks her opinions matter”

How is that different from any other “celebrity” who feels the need to weigh in with their opinion on everything ****cough***KathyGriffinJoyBeharAlecBaldwin***coughcough****

At least Kathy Griffin is funny. She is certainly entertaining. Patti Stanger is just a blob that talks. Nothing else. Not funny, not entertaining…just a big blow hard.

Kinda like your other honerable mentions. Joy Behar and Alec Baldwin…

Really nearly any “celebrity” that inflicts their opinion on the public would qualify. Just insert another name if you don’t like my choices. (Dr. Drew, Dr. Phil, Donald Trump…the list goes on.)

The thing is that I watch millionare matchmaker just cuz it’s so redic, and patti has a little bit of insight at times, but it’s nothing more than an experienced, mature woman hasn’t learned after a few years of unsuccessful dating. Men like to be “hunters”, women need to play innocent/hard to get in order to be considered a “lady” (thus, attracting quality men), and blah blah blah. No shit. Everyone above the age 15 knows that. And also, one week spent being called out on your bullshit, plus an hour spent with a lifecoach/shrink/style-expert/whatever to “fix” ur bullshit, then 1 date he/she inevitably fucks up, IS NOT going to change a person enough to be magically successful in the love dept. Matchmaker shmatchmaker. Pft.

Oh, I liked your choices. And I agree with your post, Especially your more recent examples.

I just like Kathy Griffin and at least when she is giving an opinion it has a bit of snark in it. Those others that you mention just vomit words..

It’s all in your perspective. I think Kathy Griffin is a bithering idiot…but she’s no more annoying than anyone else shouting their uneducated, unsolicited opinion on world affairs.

Living in NYC…Patti is true about women not wanting to date men outside of their zipcode. Although, i think this mostly applies to women in Manhattan and is more reflective of the socioeconomic implications of each neighborhood. Upper East Side = wealthy, possibly old money, Midtown = wealthy, possibly new money, Upper West Side – comfortably/financially secure..possibly a family man, Soho/Chelsea trendy, metro, likes to go out, be seen, West Village = trendy, openminded, likes to spend money. Brooklyn to the ladies mean hipsters (Williamsburg) or just men who can’t afford the lifestyle these ladies feel they should be leading. They may date a guy in DUMBO if he has a really big loft. And by loft, I mean penis.
Don’t even think about Queens or The Bronx..they wouldn’t go there unless it was to a baseball game on a date.

Other than that, Pattie is redic and so is her show. I find her comments about gay men and monogamy offensive. But what does she know? She can’t even find a man herself, even though she probably applies all her ‘wisdom’ to her very own life. What does that say about her wisdom?

As a straight white man, I’ve been calling for that bitch’s head on a goddam stick for years. Guess I was ahead of the curve. It’s nice to know other demographics hate her now, too. It feels almost… cozy!

Wait just one gosh darned moment…Andy Cohen is “a gay”? Woah! Never saw that one coming…. ;-)

I love how Bravo and Andy always give these “ladies” a pass when they share their bigoted or just plain ignorant opinions….if any other “celebrity” had said that, Andy would have named them his “jackhole” of the week, but I know Bravo has got to protect the franchise, so we’ll just let this one slide….

@truthsquad – Last night on WWHL, Andy did make Patti the Jackhole of the week…I’m sure b/c he HAD to b/c of all the hoopla, but at least he did something.

Okay, it’s really funny because I watch this show once in a blue, blue moon, but I actually saw this. I get the whole upset about gay and Jewish men, but I’m sorry, I don’t care what she said about NYC women. I’m from the Midwest, Minnesota particularly, which is constantly slammed with presumptuous and ignorant comments (most recently a “cow-tipping” reference was made on Keeping Up With The Kardashians….not that I watched it), and we’re not supposed to get offended. I worked in South Dakota for two years and “Nobody cares about the Dakotas!” was once said on Friends. So who cares? Get over it.

How am I supposed to pay attention to her nuggets of wisdom about relationships when all I can think of is–this is what Joey Ramone would look like in drag.

@truthsquad – it was great that he addressed it. He made a mini speech about it before he announced it. Either way, she doesn’t care, she’s just riding this publicity wave. She’s so lame!

I think she’s 1 of those people they have say random stupid stuff just to make people mad so they’ll talk about the show.

She’s talking about people being snobs but on this week’s 1st she said you shouldn’t date a waitress or hairstylist because they’re lower than dirt. Not those exact words but almost.

Then 2 minutes later she said the most important thing is magic and chemistry and being attracted.

@Tmurda I think it’s changing some but it’s slow. A girl can go talk to a boy or even ask him out but then he has to do it the next time. Which isn’t true for a boy asking a girl so there’s still a double standard.
