Hammer Time

I lost my hair in the bankruptcy

MC Hammer has found a home for his reality show on A&E. The show will be a docu-series about none other than MC Hammer, his wife and kids…so basically it’s a graduated version of Coolio’s Rules. J.D. Roth, the executive producer of the show said, “Here’s a dad with five kids, married to the same woman for more than 23 years, living in the same place where he grew up and going to church every Sunday…He’s had his ups and downs, and it’s what makes him such a character you root for.”

I would normally be concerned with another rapper doing a reality series, but considering it’s being produced by J.D. Roth (who produces Biggest Loser) and it’s airing on A&E, I feel like it will actually be watchable…Plus, it’s MC Hammer!!! He was such a big part of my childhood…I remember cuttin’ major rug at our school dance for “U Can’t Touch This” and shakin’ my ass like it was going out of style. And just for that, I’m going to give his show a chance.

But seriously…I can’t believe I used to think this was hot:

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Hammer is one of the few famous people I’ve actually ever met and talked to (this was back in 2001 when I worked for the now defunct Tower Records and he was promoting a new album) and he was really, REALLY sweet and kind. Very down to earth and not at all wrapped up in ego… I actually hope it goes well for him.

Oh yeah, and I used to think he had a really REALLY fine ass… not to mention… well… damn, I guess I’d have to admit that I once saw the “Pumps And A Bump” video… the man was F-I-N-E! :)

    love, J-Mo :)
