I watched Pushing Daisies last night, and really liked it. It was not what I was expecting at all. I thought it was a brighter continuation of Twin Peaks, but had a very Desperate Housewives feel with the narration, the bright colors, etc. It also reminded me a little of Big Fish. It had a lot of elements of different successful shows or movies, but I didn’t get really invested in the show until Ned reunited with Chuck. I thought that Lee Pace and Anna Friel were awesome together, and their ironic romance made me feel fuzzy (I can’t believe I just described it as fuzzy). And the Pie Hole???? Nuff said.

I liked the show, there is nothing else like it on TV now. It got a season pass in my TiVo.

Gasmii, did you like the show? Hate it? Indifferent??

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I was really looking forward to this show and liked it a lot as well. I actually liked all of the main characters (which almost never happens). It has a very “endearing” quality to it.

If the writers can keep the concept fresh throughout the season (and beyond), I think it will do well. Given ABC’s penchant for cancelling shows though I really hope the ratings reflect the quality of the show.

I’m with you Nads… it’s season passed on my TIVO too. I was hooked after the opening. It was so funny yet weird at the same time! It’s definitely my kind of show.

Hmmm. Let’s just say it hasn’t made my “Series Recording” yet. I’m setting my recordings week to week. Actually, I’m waiting for Chi McBride to find his stride. The season may hinge on his interplay with the main characters. They need to broadaen his character and make him more than a semi-sleazy P.I. Other than that, the series does have a fresh air to it. But, then again, so did “Private Practice”, which already blows donkeys and is off my DVR. As is “Tell me you love me”. Waaaaay too earnest and free-spirited for me.
