I loved her music.
I have her “best of” cd and “Dim All the Lights” is my fav.
toot toot . . . awwww. . .beep beep. . . .toot toot. . . RIP. You will be missed!
@sheesh – Dim All The Lights is my favorite, too. She had such a beautiful and versatile voice and her vocals on that song especially where so free. It’s like junior high is really finally over.
There’s nothing like being tipsy with your girlfriends and Bad Girl comes on. Le sigh…
::sigh:: Say what you will about disco and the 70′s, but there was a vibrancy and earnestness (and absence of cynicism) that I wish the kids and teens of today could experience. RIP, Donna Summer.
@ Bellicose Baby – very well put. She truly was the voice of a generation. IMO better than Whitney – such richness and emotion. Donna will be missed.
The King of Go-Go and the Queen of disco – RIP. That is one heck of dance party going on in heaven.
My mother hated the “bad girls” album. My sister and I would dance around the room (’cause we loved it) and she would come in, indignant about an album about “streetwalkers” (her words).
Donna was the absolute bomb in the 70′s. Drinking beer underaged, dancing, riding around listening to the radio on the FM converter b/c all the cars came with AM only back then. I’d love to go back for just one summer night.
RIP Donna. You will always be part of my best memories.
