Over half of the programs in this week’s ratings were reality-based shows. The summer is the best time to sit back & not think too deeply & these type of shows are perfect. CBS still dominates the charts, but NBC gets bragging rights for the #1 show with America’s Got Talent. ABC comes in 2nd with The Bachelorette. CBS & it’s repeats are still favorites with 7 of them on the list.

Here is Mr. Nielson’s “Top Twenty” list for the week of July 19-25:

1. America’s Got Talent (Tue.) NBC 10.4 million

2. The Bachelorette ABC 10 million

3. America’s Got Talent (Wed.) NBC 10 million

4. NCIS (repeat) CBS 9.8 million

5. WipeOut (Tue.) ABC 8.3 million

6. WipeOut (Thur.) ABC 7.8 million

12. NCIS: LA (repeat) CBS 7 million

13. Hell’s Kitchen (Tue. 9pm) FOX 6.9 million

14. Big Brother 12 (Thur.) CBS 6.7 million

15. Criminal Minds (repeat) CBS 6.6 million

16. CSI (repeat) CBS 6.5 million

18. Rookie Blue ABC 6.4 million

19. 20/20 (Fri.) ABC 6.2 million

20. Minute To Win It (Wed.) NBC 6.1 million

So You Think You Can Dance on FOX came in at #24 & #25 with 5.7 million.

Cable TV’s “Top Ten” list for the week of July19-25:

rizzoli

The new TNT show  Rizzoli & Isles, is a quirky(?) partners crime series with two best friends solving crimes. Both are women & one’s a medical examiner (Sasha Alexander) while the other is a police detective (Angie Harmon). This fighting bad guys duo has become a #1 hit in the ratings. One odd thing, to me anyways, is that Mad Men premiered with 2.9 million viewers, yet didn’t make the list, but #10 True Blood with 2.7 million, did?

1. Rizzoli & Isles TNT 4.6 million

2. The Closer TNT 4.5 million

3. Burn Notice USA 3.7 million

4. NASCAR (Indianapolis) ESPN 3.6 million

5. Deadliest Catch: Capt. Harris (Tue. 10pm)  DSC 3.4 million

6. Deadliest Catch (Tue. 9pm) DSC 3.4 million

7. Royal Pains USA 3.2 million

8. Covert Affairs USA 3.2 million

9. WWE RAW (10pm.) 3.2 million

10. True Blood HBO 2.7 million

About

I'm a retired barwhore, who owned a drinking establishment for 20+ years. I've seen it all & done alot of it myself. I AM TV Patrol! I keep you all informed on new shows, specials, cancellations & the Nielson Ratings. I also contribute to "About Last Night". Award shows & the red carpet fashions in "Fashiongasm" are also on my agenda. I'm an expert in television viewing & I'm not afraid to voice my opinion about what sucks or doesn't suck on TV. Oh... and I'm always right.
