Renee Graziano Checked Into Rehab

Mob Wives star Renee Graziano checked into rehab this past Monday. I guess she’s had a problem with pills in the past, but was clean when she checked into rehab. Her rep told Page Six, “Although Renee Graziano has been admitted to a rehabilitation center, it is not for any current drug or alcohol use of any kind. Her choice to enter rehab was made entirely on her own. She has made this decision for the betterment of her son AJ [Pagan]’s life, as well as to improve her physical, mental and spiritual health.”

Want to know what I say to that? That’s one self-aware gangsta! Orrrrrrrrr she needed more story lines for season three of Mob Wives. Either way, she’s one chick I wouldn’t want to cross in a dark alley–on or off pills. But someone should really tell her that rehab isn’t trendy anymore…it’s so 2006.

**UPDATE** I know I didn’t make it clear in this post earlier, but I love Renee and don’t want to get whacked. ;-)

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I refuse to believe our girl did that for publicity, she seems to be one of the few authentic people on tv, in that she’s crazy for real, not just when the cameras are on. (I say crazy in a good way referring to her).

I hope she does well and this is just a preventative measure. I loves this lady.

I agree— I love Renee–she had alot of problems–seeing her on-air panic attacks was sad. If she has decided its time to get herself help, then I am holstering any snark I may be packing and say “Good luck”. Junior was and is a total putz and is in jail where he belongs.

eek! well, I’m really happy she’s getting help because she needs it. God only knows what’s been going on in her life since we last saw her on Mob Wives. Get better, Renee!

Classy it seems that those who are going into rehab lately are folks who have never been told “no” in their life. Life gets real and they can’t handle it so they become “exhausted” and need rehab to deal with day-to-day life. The rest of us learned to cope in some way, shape or form.

I’m pretty sure that rehab is the “alternative” to a mental institution for these peeps. They need more than a vacay, but aren’t trying to admit themselves into a mental facility. They don’t want to put in the hard work and time to fix the real problem,so they go to rehab, treating it like a boot-camp version of getting actual mental help that is life-changing. They consider themselves to be experiencing a breakdown related to getting caught up in their celebrity lifestyle, and all the chaos that comes with it, so they check into rehab to get their head clear, and see a doctor to pick their brain just enough to patch up the current issues on the surface, then devote themselves to a more peaceful existence so they can return to their fucked up life with a fresh start. People who do this crap are such pieces of shit, in the eyes of the REAL addicts. Iv’e been there, and having suffered the downspiral that leads a true addict to rehab, tolerating someone amongst the group who is giving the perception of a person struggling with the same thing as everyone else, but clearly not experiencing the same things physically, or otherwise, is infuriating. I get that mental illness and/or a dibilitating overload of stress, are real, common, painful situations to deal with, but it’s not the same as the disease of addiction, and should be treated in a different place. Rehab isn’t for a person to escape their life and clear their head. Rehab is short for “rehabilitation”, mind you. Addicts must re-learn how to LIVE and function without drugs, cope with the issues they spent all the years they used trying to escape, and gain the tools that are crucial in fighting off the desires and triggers that haunt a person in recovery forever. It’s not a joke. It’s not designed to ease one’s anxiety. Anxiety and exhaustion are managed through rest, therapy, support, and sometimes medication and diet/life changes. So, I love Renee, but either get ur doc to straighten out ur meds and take a week off to go to the beach or something, or admit that you have an addiction that you need help to get under control, and put in the work that a true addict puts into his/her recovery process. Getting to the root of complex mental issues, which I suspect renee is facing, is a process that takes dedication to really get a hold on. It takes regular therapy sessions for an extended pperiod of time, sacrifices to get rid of things in one’s life that are comfortable, but toxic and harmful, humbling of the ego that protects one’s vulnerability, and many other things that take time and strength. People, especially celebrities, are used to instant gratification, and the scary thought of what an institution commonly involves makes rehab seem theonly appealing option. It’s a cop-out, and Renee will never live as the person/mother/friend she longs to be if she hides amongst the addicts, hiding from the causes of her psychological rollarcoaster. My money is on her actually being an addict.
