Not to be the barer of bad news on this blog, but I figured I should write about Rosie O’Donnell’s heart attack. She suffered a heart attack last week, and blogged about it today with major gratitude. So sad. Poor girl, she’s been having a tough year–her show tanked, her fiance was diagnosed with demoid tumors, and now her heart attack…hopefully she’s going to be on the upswing soon.
She blogged:
my heart attack
August 20, 2012
its a semi-sunny monday
the light bouncing off the flat hudson
mish is sitting next to me
i am happy to be alive
last week i had a heart attack
here is what happened
on tuesday morning
while walking in a parking lot in nyack
i heard a loud commanding voice
“can u help me”
more of a demand than request
a challenge – a plea
i turned and saw an enormous woman
struggling to get out of her car
she was stuck
“can u help me? she asked again
as i walked toward her
“oh u r rosie odonnell”
yes i am
the ghost of christmas future
me – if i did not wake
there r no accidents i thought
as i braced myself and lifted her
it was not easy
but together we did it
she was up and on her way
with gratitude
a few hours later my body hurt
i had an ache in my chest
both my arms were sore
everything felt bruised
muscular – i thought
strained or pulled tissue
i went about my day
the pain persisted
i became nauseous
my skin was clammy
i was very very hot
i threw up
maybe this is a heart attack
i googled womens heart attack symptoms
i had many of them
but really? – i thought – naaaa
i took some bayer aspirin
thank god
saved by a tv commercial
literally
i did not call 911
50% of women having heart attacks never call 911
200,000 women die of heart attacks
every year in the US
by some miracle i was not one of them
the next day i went to a cardiologist
the dr did an EKG and sent me to the hospital
where a stent was put in
my LAD was 99% blocked
they call this type of heart attack
the Widow maker
i am lucky to be here
know the symptoms ladies
listen to the voice inside
the one we all so easily ignore
CALL 911
save urself

Well, I never thought I’d learn anything from Rosie, but I have.
I just learned that the blogger LynnNChicago just died this past week from a heart attack, so sad. As snowshoecat said I learned something from Rosie and I hope it helps raise awareness.
I refuse to learn anything.
Especially from Rosie Fucking O’Donnell.
This is scary– women not much older than I am are having heart attacks!!!!!! I am so glad I get my lazy ass out of bed and walk for two hours each morning in some semblence of healthy living. Reward– a glass of red wine for dinner–err with dinner.
I thought she had been taking a healthy route?? She had lost weight and her skin looked awesome—I think I saw her on Dr Oz maybe a year ago.
What is with that picture though? Is that hair on her upper body? What am I missing?
@Angela, that is Rosie’s head photoshopped onto the body of the terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mojammed, a popular Internet depiction.
No, that’s what Rosie’s PR people SAID happened–it’s the old “that’s not me, that’s my head photoshopped onto Khalid Sheikh Mojammed’s body!” dodge. But that is an authentic, pre-2 hours in the hair ‘n make up chair picture of Rosie. Scary, no?
Clares: Notice that none of the sites that LynnChicago took from, bullied or outright stole mentioned anything about her death. Looks like she was only “beloved” by her scary crazy blind faith minions. Karma attacked again.
@Noreen, I don’t know that much about lynnnchicago, I occasionally read her blog (admittedly not for awhile) just like I read tvgasm, stoopid housewives, bside and a few more. Yes no life, but I do lovely trashy bravo shows. I don’t know if Lynn was a bad person or not but I always feel sad when a person dies, well serial killers and few others may be exceptions. I learned Lynne died from Carole of RHONYs blog.
NotwithoutmyTV, you are right of course. Maybe the lovely photo would have been improved if the hair and make-up people had shaved her first? Or maybe not.
ClareS: Could understand her dying from reading Carole’s blog. She probably couldn’t understand the big words Carole uses. Caught on to all the behind the scenes goings on a while ago when someone started the “I Hate Bethenny Frankel” blog. Was hard to believe at first, then read the Jewish Journal expose. She really did some rotten things.
@ Noreen sad that she did mean things. She most likely was a miserable unhappy person.
Thanks Fan-ann. I had not seen that before.
Imagine being the woman so fat that you give Rosie O’Donnell a heart attack. Let’s hope she also gets a wake up call.
I’m with @NWMTV – I refuse to learn anything from Rosie other than to ensure my chest is fully shaved before wearing a deep V.
Maybe the woman getting out of the car was sent by Barbara Walters…
“barer”? It’s bearer. Learn how to spell.
