Ryan Murphy apologized for his his “F*ck you…self-centered assholes” comment to the Kings of Leon. Sounds like he has a bad case of “insert foot in mouth.” I’m glad he finally apologized for his comment. I’m sure he didn’t realize his statement would cause such an uproar in the music community. The Kings of Leon aren’t the only band that Ryan offended. Dave Grohl of The Foo Fighters said, “It’s every band’s right… F–k that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do Glee.”

He’s right! A band doesn’t HAVE to do a show. A no’s a no. Is Ryan trying to Glee rape these bands into doing the show?

Ryan’s apology: “I didn’t speak with as much clarity as I would have liked…Who am I to say ‘F–k you?’ That’s not what I meant. I completely understand when artists don’t want a show or another artist to interpret their songs. In fact, I respect it. It’s their personal work and I’d feel the same way. We get turned down all the time and I’ve don’t fight it or even go back after a rejection…(lesson learned) Don’t say f–k you to someone in the press,”"

He said he “didn’t speak with as much clarity as I would have liked…” what part of “self-centered assholes” wasn’t clear, Ryan??

I’m glad he finally apologized, although it’s a little too late, don’t you think? Damage is already done.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

He also said they don’t care about arts education because they didn’t deign to let him use their song, so he’s just in CYA mode because of the backlash.

Whatever and all, but if he’d just tell the truth and say “I’m a dick and react poorly to not getting my way,” I’d respect him more.

Yeah, those “I apologize if anyone was offended” (i.e., and you shouldn’t have been, because I didn’t mean anything by it, but whatevs.) apologies are pretty transparent, but people keep on delivering them.

Dickhead. But at least he didn’t say, “I misspoke.” That one really irks the piss outta me.

Oh, now he’s telling other producers how to treat musicians? Stay the hell off my TV, Murphy, and take your brats with you.

I liked Ryan Murphy better with Nip/Tuck. At least he kept his mouth shut then.
