There you have it…the search is over. Ryan Alexander Jenkins was found dead in a hotel room at The Thunderbird Motel in Hope, BC, Canada. The cause of his death…he hung himself.

Guess he couldn’t live with himself. So gross.

Here’s the AP video:

**Update**They’re investigating whether or not Ryan had an accomplice.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Gross. I didn’t really know who he was, but apparently, he grew up in Calgary, which is just a bit south of my hometown. Ew.

I don’t remember hearing much about this guy on Canadian news channels. Perhaps the coverage in BC was more – since that was where he ended up escaping to – but in Alberta, there wasn’t much, even though his hometown is here.

I wonder how he got through – the border police had been notified by the US so they had dogs and helicopters and such trying to find him. But his boat was found in BC, so I’m wondering if perhaps he came in from the West side of British Columbia, as opposed to through the border – like going up around Vancouver Island.

And then some woman checked him in to the hotel, so maybe he convinced her to help him somehow. Who knows?

Somebody called it in the comments, saying, “They’ll probably find him hanging in a motel room.” Wow.

Georgia, I think he walked across the border, probably in the middle of nowhere. As I heard it, he docked his boat and walked.

According to the LA Times, he was found by the Coast Guard off the coast of Blaine, Washington and then he got into Canadian waters, so Canadian authorities chased him with a helicopter and a boat, but he went back into US waters, then docked at some marina and walked in.

So, he didn’t come straight up into British Columbia from the Washington/Idaho/Montana area. That would be stupid, I imagine that there were cops everywhere in that area. He probably came in near Semiahoo or White Rock, they’re right on the coast, fairly far south.

I wonder how he got to Hope though, it’s nearly 2 hours from the coast. Maybe he hitched a ride from someone – like that woman who checked him in.

Oh well. At least now they know where he is.
