Is spin art a medium? I can also bake with an Easy Bake oven

I’ve been at the NBC Universal TCA (where they announce all their shows) all day and am pooped, so I will write more all about the Bravo, Oxygen, USA, and NBC fall slate by the end of tomorrow, but for now I wanted to share with you the Sarah Jessica Parker/Magical Elves art-competition reality show on Bravo called American Artist . It’s been in development for a while, but the big announcement that Bravo picked it up came today. The show wasn’t really the focus at the TCA, but it sparked my interest because I thought it could be the new Project Runway if it’s done right. American Artist will be an art competition show bringing together aspiring artist to compete for a gallery show, a cash prize and a sponsored national tour. The show will follow the artists competing and creating different mediums of art: sculpture, painting photography and industrial design. The artists will be judged by a panel of top art figures ranging from artist to collectors to curators to critics. Sounds like a typical Magical Elves show…it’s amazing how they keep it so simple, but still manage to keep it classy with plenty of drama. A premiere date has not been set yet, but I as soon as I hear you’ll be the first to know. Should be interesting.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I was positive you would post something about SJP’s mole removal. Apparantly she had that mole on her chin taken off. I wonder why she waited so long to do that.

I’ll be interested in checking out this art show – art is sooooo subjective but then again so is fashion and food.

word on the street is that the mole is history…..

something to do with a promotion she’s doing for some Cancer awareness organisation, too, I think…

I mean, it’s not as if she still needs it for people to delineate between her and thousands of other scrawy, petite, blonde actresses with horsey faces and sometime curly, sometime straight long hair.
