The new trend in ads is scented inks and Mojito tasting paper??? Models look out! Now while you browse through magazines looking at pictures, you can smell your ads, and taste them too! Ready for the kicker?? You don’t have to eat anymore, because paper is non-fat, sugar-free, and carb-free! And, they said that pigs couldn’t fly.

Alright, I’ll stop. Here’s the real story:

There are two separate ad campaings that have been brought to my attention. The first one is the scratch ‘n’ sniff ad for the new movie about a toy store, Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, starring Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman. The ad will smell like frosted cake in certain areas of the page. I like this idea, but didn’t they already do away with perfume scents in magazine ads years ago? Let’s hope that the smell is self-contained with each scratch for those with flour allergies. :-)

AND, the second, and of course my favorite is for the new CBS fall show, Cane. I love this idea because the ad will feature a strip contained in a “tamper-proof” pouch that will taste like a mojito! Gross, but interesting, eh??? Cane is about a Cuban-American running a rum and sugar business in South Florida. The ad will be featured in this week’s “Rolling Stones”. CBS, I have a bone to pick: first you exploit kids on Kid Nation and now you get people to want to drink, now that’s marketing! Way to raise some brows. I guess someone had to do it now that Bob Barker’s gone. Although, I wish there was booze on the strip. People would be like, “Nads you dropping Cane again?” And I’d be like, “Hell ya!”

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.
