Well, he came and now he’s going…James Spader is leaving The Office. Apparently he only signed on for a year, and he’s decided to stick with it. Paul Lieberstein, executive producer of The Office told Variety, “James always wanted this to be a one-year arc, and he now leaves us having created one of the most enigmatic and dynamic characters in television. He’s been a great friend to me and the show, helping us successfully transition into the post-Michael Scott years, and I’m grateful for that.”

James was brought in to replace Kathy Bates’ character, but really to fill the void of Steve Carell being gone. But now that he’s leaving does that mean that The Office will to come to an end? I hate to say this, but I hope it does. James was only okay the first two episodes, but I lost interest after that. Unless they bring back Michael Scott, I don’t want any. However, the good news is that Dwight is allegedly getting a spinoff (if the pilot gets greenlit), so maybe The Office legacy will continue through him…Word is that the Dwight pilot will air as a regular Office episode this season…let’s hope it’s good for his sake.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I heard about the Dwight spin off. I think it would be hilarious!

I only watched a couple of epis with Spader. He’s too one note for me. I still get the character that he played on Boston Legal from him. They SHOULD let Andy be boss of the office. He’s as inept as Michael was. And, that would piss Dwight off and continue to amuse Jim to no end. Although I can also see bringing the series to an end with a big bang closing.

This show is still pretty damn funny. Last episode with Jim trying to avoid what’s-her-name’s advances was hilarious. Spader was never fully utilized and they never gave his character any depth so I can’t say I’ll miss him.

I agree Jason. The last few weeks of this show have been much better than most of last season.

I watch this show out of necessity now (much like I did with Smallville). They killed it for me when they had the potential to do a real tribute to the original office when you couldn’t hear what Pam and Michael said to each other (much like Dawn and Tim) but then they ruined it by having Pam tell us what they said. Ruined (for me) what could have been a series finale.

Eh … whatever. I’ll keep watching like an obedient dog.

I didn’t like Robert California too much. They know that they’re exaggerating too, because in no way, shape, or form was Robert California dynamic. He was the same one note character all the damn time. And his mysteriousness really started to wear thin for me, so he can go.

What they need to do is bring back Deangelo Vickers. He was so so so funny.

And I don’t think I want a Dwight spinoff unless Erin and Jim can come too. And Stanley.
